Deuba to seek vote of confidence later today as restored House convenes Kathmandu Post
Kathmandu, July 18 Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to seek a vote of confidence on Sunday as the restored House of Representatives convenes its meeting.
Deuba was appointed prime minister on July 13 as per the July 12 verdict of the Supreme Court.
The court also reinstated the House of Representatives dissolved on May 21.
The Cabinet on Thursday recommended the House session for 4pm Sunday.
The constitution makes it mandatory that a prime minister appointed under Article 76(5) secures a vote of confidence within 30 days of appointment. A failure to win the vote of confidence leads to dissolution of the House, and elections must be held within six months.
