Punjab authorities have objected to Haryana s use of a drone to air-drop tear gas shells on protesting farmers at the Shambhu border. The Patiala Deputy Commissioner wrote to the Ambala Deputy Commissioner, requesting the drone not be sent into Punjab s territory. The farmers claimed the drone dropped tear gas canisters on them while they were inside Punjab s territory. Following the objection, the movement of the drone along the border has been restricted.
Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal and Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee general secretary Sarwan Singh Pandher, among others, were part of the meeting.
