Authorities in Punjab have raised an objection over the use of a drone by Haryana to air-drop tear gas shells on agitating farmers in their territory at the Shambhu border, a senior official said on Wednesday.
Haryana security personnel had deployed a drone to drop tear gas shells to disperse farmers who were trying to break barricades in an attempt to march towards Delhi to press the Centre for various demands
Punjab authorities have objected to Haryana s use of a drone to air-drop tear gas shells on protesting farmers at the Shambhu border. The Patiala Deputy Commissioner wrote to the Ambala Deputy Commissioner, requesting the drone not be sent into Punjab s territory. The farmers claimed the drone dropped tear gas canisters on them while they were inside Punjab s territory. Following the objection, the movement of the drone along the border has been restricted.
