It will take time to ‘rewild’ the three remaining cheetahs in the acclimatisation camps because they are from Namibia’s captive stock, the Committee’s chairman said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released the first batch of cheetahs from Namibia into a quarantine enclosure at KNP on his 72nd birthday on September 17.
The first generation of the reintroduced cheetahs in India may have to be monitored for their entire life, said Cheetah Conservation Fund founder Dr Laurie Marker.
