Moving cheetahs artificially from one ‘island population’ to another, as is done in South Africa, will undermine India's long battle against habitat fragmentation
It's a sad day at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, as one of the eight cheetahs brought from Namibia to India has passed away. A five-year-old female cheetah, Sasha, died of kidney related ailment on March 27.
The African cheetahs in Kuno National Park of Madhya Pradesh are slowly settling in. Authorities released two more cheetahs into the larger enclosure on Sunday, November 27. Both the cheetahs are females - Asha and Tbilisi.
