News out of the east bay. A fire broke out along highway 24. The Highway Patrol says it began as a car fire and flames spread to brush. That fire has burned about 25 acres. We are told the fire is out but two lanes westbound are still shut down as crews mop up the scene. No homes are threatened and no injuries have been reported.
