After six years of sending a small contingent of Marines to Central and South America each year to train with allies and support hurricane relief efforts, the Corps has halted the rotation in an apparent effort to save money. The Marine Corps is adjusting its procedures for Marine rotational forces to best position warfighters and their support systems to fight and win, a description in a Navy overview of the White House s fiscal 2022 defense budget request reads.
Just in this morning, Chico Police officers announced an arrest has been made in a weekend stabbing incident at the Lindo Channel. Police said the victim of the stabbing is expected to survive after he was sent to the hospital under critical condition. The stabbing happened by the Lindo channel, behind the Raley’s on East Ave.
Siskiyou County deputies are searching for more information after they discovered the body of a woman missing out of Oakland. The Siskiyou County Sheriff s Office said the body of Tatiana Dugger was found by a hiker near the city of Weed. The Butte County Sheriff s Office was leading the search after her disappearance in January. Investigators said the body looked like it had been in the area for some time.
