The Supreme Court on Monday ordered YSR Congress MP Kanumuri Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, who is in the Andhra police custody for sedition, to be immediately taken to the Army hospital in Secunderabad for medical examination.
A Vacation Bench of Justices Vineet Saran and B.R. Gavai expressed concern about the health of Mr. Raju. It directed that Mr. Raju be admitted in the Army Hospital for medical care until further orders.

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Saturday constituted a three-member medical board headed by superintendent of the Government General Hospital, Guntur, to examine wounds allegedly inflicted on YSRC rebel MP K Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju by police to check the veracity of the allegation.
However, it rejected the MP’s request for the presence of his family members and the family doctor during the medical examination. Similarly, his request for allowing his personal security guards to be with him and ruled that the State police shall offer necessary protection if he was admitted as an in-patient in the hospital.

A YSR Congress MP has approached the Supreme Court seeking bail in a sedition case registered against him.
Narasapuram MP Kanumuri Raghurama Krishnam Raju, represented by senior advocate Adinarayana Rao and advocate Tatini Basu, alleged that the registration of the case against him was a “vindictive action” by his own party’s government led by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Mr. Raju, a vocal critic of the State government, said the High Court refused to consider the grounds in his bail plea and asked him to approach the trial court for relief.

Amaravati, May 15 : The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Saturday struck down a bail petition filed by YSRCP MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju.
The Andhra Pradesh CID had arrested the disgruntled YSRCP MP from the Narsapur Lok Sabha constituency from his residence in Hyderabad on Friday. He was taken to Guntur for questioning.
Official sources said that through his speeches, Raju was reportedly indulging in a systematic and schematic effort to cause tensions among the communities, besides attacking various government dignitaries in a way that could cause loss of faith in the government which they represent.
