Life of Charles Rorabaugh celebrated during Founder s Day festivities

The life of Kirksville businessman Charles Rorabaugh (1886-1919) was celebrated during Founder s Day festivities held on Saturday, May 13 at Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery in Kirksville. A tombstone in the name of Rorabaugh and his mother, Nancy Ann (Clarkson) Rorabaugh (1847-1924), was donated by the Adair County Historical Society and Friends of the Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Committee. An unveiling ceremony was held at the cemetery.

Former Knox Co. resident sentenced for stealing vehicle in Adair Co. Kirksville Daily Express A Missouri man was sentenced to five years in prison Monday after pleading guilty to a stealing charge from an incident in Adair County. Jonathan Prebe, 40, of Kansas City and formerly Knox County, received charges after stealing a vehicle from a local business on Sept. 12, 2020, according to a release issued by Adair County Prosecuting Attorney Matt Wilson.  Kirksville police and the Adair County Sheriff’s Office determined Prebe had used a truck rented from a business in Olathe, Kan. Officers worked with that rental company to figure out Prebe’s travels and began reviewing surveillance footage from businesses between Edina and Kansas City. The trailer used to transport the stolen vehicle was also found to belong to Prebe.
