Suzuki Philippines is proud to bring back the most powerful production bike ever built by the brand, the Hayabusa.
First introduced in 1999, the Suzuki Hayabusa was the world’s fastest production motorcycle, reaching an almost mythical speed of 312 kilometers per hour. The name, Hayabusa, is Japanese for peregrine falcon, the world’s fastest bird, and as clever taunt to its then competitor, Honda’s CBR1100 XX Blackbird, which was the previous world’s fastest production motorcycle at the time.
More aerodynamic styling
Suzuki says that there are more than 550 new parts on the new ‘Busa. These parts are rather an evolution of those seen on the outgoing model, with the goal of controlling the Busa’s claimed 190 Ps of power and more importantly, meet the current Euro-5 regulations.
The new Hayabusa is powered by a 1,340cc, four-stroke, fuel-injected liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-cylinder engine that delivers 187 BHP @ 9,700 rpm and 150 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. This engine complies with BS6 emission norms.
Suzuki has launched the third generation Hayabusa in India at a price of Rs. 16,40,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It will be available in three colours - Glass Sparkle Black / Candy Burnt Gold, Metallic Mat Sword Silver / Candy Daring Red and Pearl Brilliant White / Metallic Mat Stellar Blue.
The Hayabusa has received a full model change for the first time in 13 years. But, Suzuki has retained the original silhouette and layout of the instrument console of previous generations’ Hayabusas, in the third generation model.
