Congress and other Opposition parties resorted to sharp criticism after the museum s name was officially changed, alleging it was done to erase Nehru s legacy | Latest News India
Congress on Wednesday hit out at PM Modi after the name of world renowned Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) was changed to Prime Ministers Memorial Museum and Library, saying he "possesses a huge bundle of fears, complexes and insecurities, especially when it comes to our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru".
The renaming of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library in New Delhi to Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library (PMML) Society has elicited criticism from the Congress, which hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for trying to destroy the Nehruvian legacy.
The Nehru Memorial Museum was set up in 1964 on Nehru's 75th birth anniversary. Earlier this year, it was renamed after a special meeting presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Opposition parties such as Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and AAP have criticised the decision.
