kobach in the republican primary for governor there. kobach, the former vice chair of trump s defunct voter fraud commission. the new york times reports that trump bucked advice in making the endorsement, noting the republican governors association and a number of high level operatives counseled against supporting kobach because he would provide democrats an opening to take back the governorship. i m joined by the roundtable, susan del percio, basils michael, a democratic strategist, and caitlin huey-burns with real clear politics. susan, let me start with you. we just laid out the dynamics in this district. i m looking at kasich basically saying the president maybe is doing more harm than good for republicans. half this district seemed to love donald trump in 2016. really gravitated towards him, and the other half seemed to run away from him. from the republican candidate s standpoint, was it good or bad
all right. well, it keeps going and it keeps going. for the record, michael cohen and i did not discuss the tapes. in fact, they came out about an hour or so after our breakfast. but thank you, nbc s danny cevall cevallos. now, back to the very interesting week, to say the least. we have with our russian counterpart, foes, enemies. joining me now, peter emerson, who worked for three democratic administrations and jen kearns, a former spokeswoman for the california republican party. jen, let me go to you first. the president goes, stands shoulder the shoulder with vladimir putin. says that he has no reason to believe that russia interfered with the united states elections in 2016.

the president knew about that trump tower meeting. what s also important to put into perspective is sam nunberg was a short-lived campaign adviser, fired in august 2015 for racially charged facebook posts. that was two months after donald trump announced his candidacy, nearly a year before the trump tower meeting in june of 2016. really sam nunberg putting forth a lot of claims in several interviews over the past day, really not providing any evidence to back up those claims. when it does come to the subpoena, a demand that nunberg produce documents, also appearing before a grand jury on friday. it s unclear if nunberg will comply or not. hanging over nunberg s head would be a contempt of court charge if, in fact, he didn t comply. of course, waffling on whether he will or won t. john. jessica schneider in washington. joining me former federal prosecutor laura coates. there is a lot of drama here. this is a soap opera.
advising them to hold off. everything is possibly about to get set on fire. they are sundaying the alarms. they are giving concrete advice to people on what to do next defensively and offensively. if you re looking for a thing to do now you can ask. i do not suggest you consult with a democratic party right now. don t go to their web site right now. there s no to do lists there. that s thank you. they still want you to elect a democratic senate which is something they failed to do several days ago. they still want you to tell them you re in for 2016.
