China, Turkey start making ships for Pak Navy

ISLAMABAD: China has started manufacturing of third Tpye-054A Class Frigate for the Pakistan Navy while Turkey has also begun to manufacture second MILGEM Class Corvette Keel.
The ships launching ceremonies were held at Hudong Zhonghua (HZ) Shipyard Shanghai, China, and Istanbul Naval Shipyard (INSY), Turkey. Both the ceremonies were graced by the respective countries’ Chief Naval Overseers, the spokesman of the Pakistan Navy said on Saturday.
Type 054 A/P Class Frigate will be most technologically advanced surface platform of Pakistan Navy Fleet, fitted with state-of-the-art surface, subsurface and anti-air weapons, combat management system and sensors.

Both nations plan series of events to commemorate 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations until May 21. Pakistan and China, longtime Asian allies, kicked off celebrations this week to mark the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic relations, which have progressed from formal diplomacy to strategic partners in recent decades.
The year 2021 marks the completion of 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, established in May 1951. The celebrations began with a virtual ceremony held simultaneously in Islamabad and Beijing on Tuesday as both nations plan a series of events to commemorate the historic milestone until May 21.

China launched a second advanced warship a Type-054 Class Frigate for Pakistan on Saturday, the Pakistan Navy said in a statement.
The warship, which has been constructed by China, is the country s most advanced frigate, according to a report by China s state-backed publication,
The new version has a better defence capability and is equipped with an improved radar system and a larger amount of missiles with a longer range , the report quoted Zhang Junshe, a senior research fellow at the PLA Naval Military Studies Research Institute, as saying.
