SEVIERVILLE â Keep Sevier Beautiful will be holding a Battle of the Litter on Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
âThis first annual Battle of the Litter is a great opportunity for our community to come together to help keep Sevier County clean and beautiful all while supporting their local police departmentsâ said Executive Director, Lisa Bryant.
The Battle of the Litter is a competition between, Sevier County Sheriffâs Office, Sevierville Police Department, Pigeon Forge Police Department and Gatlinburg Police Department to see which department can recruit the most volunteers to pick up the most litter here in Sevier County. The lucky department will take into possession Keep Sevier Beautifulâs first Golden Litter Award.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. The Pigeon Forge Police Department said a fight broke out at a Pilot gas station on the parkway before shots rang out over the weekend.
Officials said four or five people were involved before someone fired two shots in the air. According to the police, no one was hurt.

PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. The Pigeon Forge Police Department said that no injuries were reported after a shooting at a Pilot gas station Friday night, during the 2021 Spring Rod Run.
Officials said that it happened at 4035 Parkway and involved four or five people. They said a bystander pullout out a handgun and fired two shots in the air. According to a video shared widely online, a fight broke out moments before the shots were fired.
Police said they are still searching for information about the identity of the shooter. The video did not plainly show who the shooter was, officials said.

UPDATE 7 PM WEDNESDAY: Pigeon Forge police say Ada Hauser, 81, has been found safe and is back with her family.
PREVIOUS STORY: Pigeon Forge police are asking for the public s help to find an 81-year-old woman who hasn t been heard from since telling her husband she was going grocery shopping Wednesday morning.
Ada Louise Hauser is 5 feet, 3 inches and weighs about 180 pounds. She has gray hair and blue eyes, according to a notice from the Pigeon Forge Police Department.
Authorities fear for her safety.
