WARREN A Warren man accused of assaulting a week-old baby girl in August pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges in the felony case.
Andrew J. Jacobs, 27, of 1951 Southern Blvd. NW, Apt. 16, appeared with his attorney Charles Mickens before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan. Jacobs pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering children, while prosecutors dismissed two counts of felonious assault.
Logan will sentence Jacobs after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by the court’s adult probation department. The judge told the defendant he could face an indefinite sentence of between two and 20 years.

WARREN A Mecca couple involved in a Bazetta crash in late 2018 are suing their insurance company for not honoring an uninsured motorist claim.
Amy and Michael Haskett of 4005 Greenville Road have initiated a civil action against Allstate Fire and Casualty of Northbrook, Ill. The case, which was filed this week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, was assigned to Judge W. Wyatt McKay.
According to the lawsuit, a car driven on Dec. 21, 2018, by Joshua L. Holmes went left of center, striking the Haskett’s southbound vehicle, causing it to go off state Route 5 into a ditch.
The lawsuit identified Holmes as an unlicensed and uninsured driver who was deemed negligent in the police report.

WARREN Three drivers appeared in Common Pleas Court on Wednesday, answering various charges of running afoul of the law in Trumbull County.
One driver, Daniel E. Stout, 63, of 598 Belmont St. NE, Warren, pleaded guilty to his third OVI charge in the last 10 years. The charge is connected to a Hubbard traffic stop on Jan. 25, prosecutors stated.
Stout pleaded to two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs that carry a mandatory prison term, a maximum of $10,000 in fines, up to a lifetime driver’s license suspension and forfeiture of his 2001 Ford vehicle. He will be sentenced by Judge W. Wyatt McKay after he undergoes a background investigation done by the adult probation department.
