OXFORD — Granville County school board members say they’re going to take two plans for G.C. Hawley Middle School and three possible scenarios for Creedmoor and Wilton Elementary to public hearings next week to gather input about the future of those schools. Members agreed a decision about Hawley’s future has to be made immediately. They’ve raised the possibility of relocating and consolidating the school to a different building or reconfiguring grade levels and potentially closing it. If Hawley Middle School is relocated, that may mean consolidating South Granville High School and Granville Central High school, effectively closing Granville Central.
