The big U.S. names in the plant-based meat arena have been Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods, but there’s a new vegan brand,
OmniPork, that’s bringing a plant-based SPAM and pork substitute to our stores this month.
OmniPork is a combination of pea, non-GMO soy, rice and shiitake mushrooms and comes in a couple varieties (so far).
Luncheon is their version of vegan SPAM
Strip, a plant-based ground meat.
They claim that they only use 68% of the energy to produce regular pork and their products have calcium, fiber and iron as nutritional benefits. They also say that OmniPork is a way to get the textures and flavors of pork while eating a diet that is more sustainable.

A boy in Florida has found a way to help lift spirits in his neighborhood as the pandemic drags on.
Daniel Class has been playing the piano for about two years and recently he’s been busy learning a new song just about every day so he can put on free outdoor concerts from the driveway of his family’s St. Cloud home.
The nine-year-old dresses up in a tie and performs for free and encourages neighbors to stop and enjoy in hopes of cheering them up. He’s committed to playing as often as he can and puts a sign out to let them know when the music is starting.

“I ended up going to an eye doctor and got several eye drops for my eyes, and they’ve gotten better, but they still bother me pretty bad.”

I hear she s a good girl, it s just the unfortunate fur that s making it difficult to find her a forever home. Hopefully soon new parents that can overlook it.
