HULL — The bloom of the stinging lion's mane jellyfish was so pervasive in Duxbury last year that the town's lifeguards made a permanent addition to their first aid kits — spray bottles of vinegar.
Assistant Recreation Director Steve Studley said there have not been any sightings, or reports of stings, yet this year.
"Let's cross our fingers," he said. "It's all quiet on that front."
But further north in Hull, state and local officials are already issuing warnings.
In an advisory last week, the state Department of Conservation and Recreation said the jellyfish have been spotted at Nantasket Beach and purple flags have been raised to indicate dangerous marine life.
