After four days of testimony, a judge this week determined enough evidence existed to send two defendants in the Stewart Road shooting to a higher court and face trial.
First District Judge Michael C. Brown made the decision following a lengthy preliminary examination that saw prosecutors call several witnesses, including Monroe County sheriff's detectives who provided evidence that linked at least one suspect to the scene.
Two defendants charged of spraying a carload of young women and children with bullets will be arraigned in circuit court May 7. They are Kelvin Harris, 28, who faces numerous felony charges including six counts of assault with intent to murder, and Austin Watkins, 26, who was charged with conspiracy to commit assault with intent to murder.
