Bravo's "Top Chef" returns April 1, and two Houston chefs will be in the kitchen whipping it up.
Dawn Burrell and Sasha Grumman will be among 15 "cheftestants" competing for the coveted title of Top Chef, $250,000, a feature in "FOOD & WINE" magazine and an appearance at the annual "FOOD & WINE" Classic in Aspen.
Burrell is a retired Olympic long jumper-turned-chef. She began her career in food in the culinary program at the Art Institute of Houston, according to Bravo. Her time as executive chef at Kulture earned Burrell her first James Beard nomination for “Best Chef: Texas” in 2020. She eventually left her position during the COVID-19 pandemic to pursue Pivot, a chef-driven meal preparation service, as reported by Chron's Marcy de Luna.
