out manhunt for the fourth suspect accused of opening fire on a crowd in the streets. the shooting left four people dead. five others injured tuesday night in southeast. three suspects are already in custody but there is an overwhelming fear in the community. the upcoming funerals for the victims will ignite more violence. fox 5's roby chavez working this one in the news room tonight. >> reporter: brian, there is a nervous calm and tension in the community. no one is looking forward to the pending funerals. they fear emotions will boil over. at this hour groups like peaceaholics say some may be lotting retaliation. >> you can feel the tension in the air off south capital street in southeast. >> reporter: with nine people shot and four killed, the worry about retaliation is real. >> we can't say with certainty whether the situation is over or not. >> reporter: it's why community leaders are sounding the alarm. >> they grief, their hearts are grieving. secondly, they're confused. they're in a state of confusion. and the natural one would be retaliation. >> reporter: with more than 14 families and countless friends affected by the south capital street blood bath peaceaholics and other antiviolence groups met privately with several dozen young people to test the pulse of the community. >> right now they don't know what to feel. they're enraged. some are self-medicating. some people going through numerous thing. >> the pulse of the city sometimes is unpredictable. this is one of them situations where you st try to do as much work as you possibly can because you don't know whose family has been affected. >> reporter: 48 hours after the mass shooting there is still mass hysteria. ron moden says what is lacking is outreach and outrage. >> gandhi says an eye for an eye makes everybody blind. we have enough peop walking around here blind and lost. we have to pull these people together, get them services and don't make this a e-time event. >> reporter: now comes the funerals. community leaders say with every person buried and every person arrested the circle of violence and retaliation expands. >> you can't say that it's resolved because right now a lot of the funerals, we haven't even begun to start burying some of these people. >> reporter: many of the victims shot on tuesday had just returned from the funeral of the victims shot over a missing bracelet just days earlier. now on a personal note we saw that fear first hand at a vigil last night when someone thought they heard a gunshot. chaos erupted and the crowd scattered. i can tell you it was a a case that says we recommend bringing somebody in, arresting them, i understand the united states attorney has a job to do making sure that all of the evidence is in line, but the risks of not tell me they were inside the building on the second floor studying in a room with two doors. normally those doors are both locked. last night for some reason one of the doors was unlocked. the masked men came in, threatened them, took all their belongings and took off. police say this was one of ten robberies that took place in the area las t nigat ms one so hard to comprehend is that it happened on a college campus inside one of the buildings where students were studying. norm lip students tell me this is a very secure building. you can't get in unless you have a pass card. but they say sometimes they do leave the building and prop the doors open on the side so they can come and go as they pleas. unfortunately that leaves the door open for other people to get inside. >> campus police came around about 10:00 and locked this door right here and locked all the surrounding doors. sometimes students will come out and go to mcdonald's and this back t on the other side of the building, leave that propped open. that's the only door that's always propped open late at night. >> reporter: with that in mind campus administrators are warning students to not prop open the doors and report
