This possible storm is going on to get stronger again . Yeah, were going to have to really watch as it pushes off of the carolina coast over this week running into warmer Ocean Temperatures and that may just intensify the storm and bring some very strong winds as well as some gusty conditions. Now wind speeds 50 Miles Per Hour right now its in northeastern parts of south carolina. A lot of the rain through North Carolina right now forecast to actually push off of the coast by this weekend still is a Tropical Storm. And then it is going to just begin to meander south of our area through the weekend. By monday and while youre seeing low pressure systems here i want to point out look at the wind speed. Back to 75 Miles Per Hour. Thats hurricane strength. So strong winds pushing water on shore. And this is by monday labor day and then it will turn to the north and east by tuesday close to us weakening somewhat but still having an impact. Coming up i will show you those impacts what you can expect in your town for rain, wind as well as along the coast in just a few minutes. Sarah. A that is not moving can be big trouble because that means whatever rainfall is occurring can happen for not only hours but days in some spots. Police tell us she was simply in her driveway on Philip Street when her husband jumped into their toyota minivan and backed up apparently unknowingly hitting her. Police tell fox 25 shortly before 2 30 a 54yearold man hit his 52yearold wife while backing up in this toyota minivan in their driveway killing her almost immediately. By monday well be cool in the upper 60s and 70s all because hermine all and perhaps its going to be stalling to our south but out east mass what we will have is high seas rip currents. And with on shore flow well have beach erosion along our east and south facing beaches. That gusty onshore wind may gust as high as 50 Miles Per Hour at times right so with that being said as it stalls were going to have the potential for winds and waves as well as rain along the coast so we have Tropical Storm warnings in place from new jersey all the way down to the aerialas. Now long island south theres a Tropical Storm watch that will likely be latest track of hermine as it will be moving to the northeast at about 20 Miles Per Hour by saturday during the afternoon that may allow for those winds to get close to Hurricane Force as we head into the weekend. Then it will severe out to the north and east that is gist going to continue to allow for those strong on shore winds. Likely going to see possible storm surges and flooding and while we notice the rain beginning to move in on monday well have to watch how long this lingers because we could still continue to see the risk of some showers even into our exact track. But right now it looks as though it will be tag to our south. And brighter skies if you will be travelling this week to the north. Ill have another update in a few minutes. A miracle for a man in maine who lost control of his car crashing right into that river. This is Surveillance Video of the the crash. High pressure to the north will try suppress this storm but i am expecting to see some light rain especially overnight into monday as the going to see some significant impacts for our seas and surf. This will continue all the way through monday with our best chances of rain across our area. As the storm continues to be just parked south of the region. By sunday afternoon this pink area right here indicating wind speeds could gust as high as 50 Miles Per Hour. Of course thats going to create some significant waves offshore. He served three six month sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. He should have never been in jail he should have been in prison but this is the end of it for us. He has been released from custody. Reporter turner was arrested in january of 2015, it and charged with three felonies. He wasic haved on all counts by a jury in march but instead of the sixyear sentence, recommended by prosecutors Santa Clara County judge aaron sentenced spotlight when his victims heartwrenching impact statement went viral. So read that victims words and see that bob turner only got three months in jail for violating her so egregiously the message that the judge sent to all survivors, including this victim is your pain isnt valid it doesnt matter. A High School Student paralyzed during football practice is now suing his former coaches. Fox 25s jason law spoke to his attorney about what he believes those coaches failed to do. Reporter six years ago cooper doucettes life changed in an instant. He was a sophomore on the j. V. Team at nashua north high school. During a tackle he lowered his head and lost all feeling below his neck. Something like can change your entire life. Reporter vogelman blame coopers coaches. In the lawsuit he says the coaches failed to find out if cooper was physically able to tackle and that there had been no be instruction by defendants or any other coaches about the risk of serious injury if tackling was done without keeping your head up. Its pretty wellknown if you lower your head and expose your neck and you collide with somebody else does cooper have a case here . I dont know that he does. Brian, cullen say the coaches have decades of coaching experience and the injury was a break freak accident. They do teach the students safe tackling techniques. Thats important. Its part of the indication of a 15yearold and there are risks but the school has an obligation to minimize the risk and the most important obligation is to make sure the student are safe.
