April a is National Adopt a gray hound month and boy, every month of the year ought to be there we are with vicky and she founded back in the 80s a rescue called make peace with animals because you love greyhound. A door greyhound. I have a house full of them. I wouldnt go so far as to say everyone should have one but, i think that they are still something of an undiscovered gem. They are. This one who has been staring at me lovingly and im looking right back is oscar. He is available for adoption. You have adopted 5,000 greyhound and you still have plenty more in adoptive homes and poster homes around the the delaware valley. Why should someone choose a gray hound if they are looking for a pet over some other kind of dog. It is hard to put it that way because im all for adopting all kind of dogs however, they are very affect nate, docile given that they are professional athletes that is what they do for a living would you think they are aggressive or assertive but they are not. They generally speaking love other dogs. I understand and know because, a number of my friend have greyhound. They love to just lay around your house. Would you think with the running that they do, but really they walk are fine or do they want a little more exercise and they are just in the getting it. He is in a foster home without a fenced yard and they take him for walks four times a day, they brisk walks and he is perfectly fine with it. He is absolutely terrific. Other thing that is interesting people teach their dogs to sit. It is very hard for gray hundred dollar to sit. Very hard for greyhound to set. I notice this 1d i took him on a walk around a studio. One in a judge just because their leg muscles are so strong. But they crouch. What about kid, do they get along with kids ape if they are racing dog they have been trained to sort of track pray and that is what they are designed to do, how are they with cat, kids, that sort of thing. Vice from dog to dog but however, generally speaking, they are better with children lets say over the age of two or three only because they might knock them down. They are pretty big dogs. You this dont require anything except a loving heart for the owner. Correct. And they will sit and fit right in your house because they would like to sit on the couch with you. Yes, very much so. That is what they call them the 42mile an her couch potato. A lot of these dogs come out of the south where the dog racing is ape they need these northern homes. The age of the dog what does it cost to keep a dog like this, for a year and how would someone get one. Well, the age of the dog vice. Very few dogs race past the age of five, but most of the ones we get are three or four years of age. What they need, very little in the way of grooming maybe six cups of dry food a day. And a lot of love. Mix that up and you have a wonderful petty love you. You are gorgeous. That is your special dog. The plenty of adoptable animals. We will have all of the fur to find out how you too can have a lovely greyhound. We need some help finding another dog, this is diamond.
