Let me take a moment to recognize one of my predecessors both as the chair of the Tampa Bay Times company and of the Pulitzer Prize, andy barnes is with us. [applause] our purpose here this evening is to say happy birthday to the Pulitzer Prizes. They turn 100 years old this year, which is older than anybody in this room, i believe. [laughter] this is a great tribute to a robust and resilient american institution. So, lets also say thank you to Joseph Pulitzer who created these prizes. It is a very hard thing to win a pulitzer. One of the reasons it got as cold as it did overnight. We have some temperatures at freezing mark or below. The Atlantic City just warmed up at 32. Fortytwo in philadelphia. Reading now 31 degrees. Allentown just out of the sub Freezing Department at 33 degrees. It is 30 in millville. That is why we have a frost advisory in effect, set up for growing season but if it is that cold make sure you and your pets are kept nice and warm in this. It is only going until 8 00 this morning before we do start to warm up. We will see areas in blue. Any tender plants that you might have out there you might want to think about covering and or bringing in if you can. We to warm up and it looks great. We are not expecting any precipitation anyplace in the northeast. If you have travel plans you chose a great day. Temperatures today 68 degrees light wind, full sunshine, it does not get bet ....

And sam champion is starting us off with the heat warnings and advisories for so much of the country right now. Its not just how high the temperatures are. But how many days the temperatures have been so high. Thats the important part, elizabeth. How long the heat will last. I dont think people realize what you just said. Its not august thats statistically the hottest time of the year. Its right now. The fact that were going to threaten records in hartford, and providence, just one or two degrees off the record today. But this stretch of heat will last for five, six, seven and in some cases longer days. Thats going to be the real issue for a lot of folks trying to keep cool. From maine to minnesota, blistering heat affecting almost half the country. You ever been close to death . Its about two steps closer.
