In San Mateo County a cop trusted to protect people is now accused of raping some of the women he pulled over. 31yearold Noah Winchester was arrested in stockton yesterday morning facing 2 dozen felony charges involving five women. Those charges include rape, kidnapping and battery. The alleged incidents happening between july 2013 and october 2015. During those months he worked as an officer for the Sacramento CommunityCollege District and also as a Police Officer on the peninsula. Some of them he would pull them over talk to them about what he was stopping them for and then would make a decision that this is a victim that he can take advantage of. Winchesters bail is over 3 million. Darrylone shuemake is accused of setting the vallejo fire that killed his 5yearold son. The mother of the child has died from the injuries she had from the may 22 blaze. The child was badly burned in the fire and strungling to recover in the hospital. The vallejo woman was was 45 years old. The california Highway Patrol is trying to identify a big rig involved in an accident in mendocino county. Police in florida are defending the shooting of a therapist who says he was simply trying to help an autistic patient. Officers were responding to a call about a man with a gun in miami on monday. It was the patient with a toy truck. The therapist Charles Kinsey was on his back with his hands up next to the man. Cell phone video shows kinsey yelling to police that he is tending to his client. Then kinsey was shot. The officer didnt know it was a toy and thought kinsey was in danger. He was trying to shoot the patient. Protestors dont buy it. It was a case where a Police Officer was trying to save mr. Kinseys life and unfortunately, his show the went astray. The officer defended the actions saying in part, i did what i had to do in a split second but kinseys account seems to indicate that wasnt the case. State authorities are taking over the investigation. Now the latest from the deadly terror attack in nice. French prosecutors said today the man who drove a truck through a crowd in france planned that attack for months. Authorities now have five suspects in custody and under investigation. One of them allegedly discussed the attack on facebook. Among the 85 People Killed was a ucberkeley student killed nic leslie one of three americans killed in the bastille day attack. Police are investigating a suspicious death in gilroy. Officers responded to a womans call that her daughter was driving recklessly. In San Francisco, today marks mario woods day honoring a man shot by police. But several Police Unions are pitching a different spin to the public. You may recall that back in february, the San Francisco poa helped pay for an online petition to repeal today. So the ad shows a picture of dozens of officers with these words under it, it is a day to honor all of the brave men and women as well as all Public Safety workers in california and this nation who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Mario woods, a stabbing suspect, was shot to death in december on a sidewalk in the bayview. He was shot more than 20 times. Former police chief greg suhr initially said police shot woods because he was threatening them with a knife. I just think its an affront and an insult to the African American community that that much fire power was being used against a relatively small person at a time when that person was not committing any crime. The shooting is still under investigation. Woods death is at the forefront of major activist movements across the city and is used by local groups as an example of police brutality. This morning the San Francisco police union will its own day of remembrance in honor of Public Safety officers especially at a dallas protest where five Police Officers were assassinated. It was at a black lives matter protest this month. The justice for Mario Woods Coalition is also planning an event today. It will take place at the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church across the street from where woods was shot. The event starts at 5 p. M. Jackie ward, kpix 5. In oakland many protestors are changing their focus from Police Departments to unions. Some grabbed a mic to make sure their demands were heard. Guadalupe parkway starting to see slow conditions as well as highway 85. How about stopandgo conditions westbound highway 4 . Starting to slow down approaching 24 it at least from hillcrest to 242. That will take 11 minutes with no delays on 680 right now. Heres kenny. It should be a little easier today for passengers on southwest airlines. The carrier has been struggling to recover from a massive computer outage that struck wednesday and still caused problems nationwide yesterday. Southwest had canceled more than 600 flights and 2200 more were delayed as of last night. Southwest says the computer problems are now fixed. A driver accused of taking part in a sideshow on the bay bridge pleads not guilty to speeding and reckless driving. [ engine revs ] police say Moses Rosales and two other drivers started doing donuts on the bridge during the middle of the afternoon last saturday. Another driver on the bridge spotted them and called 911. So police were able to quickly track them down. Police are looking for a suspect who tried to kidnap a 12yearold girl in redwood city yesterday near douglas and fair oaks avenue. The girl was walking near the intersection around noon when the suspect approached her. He is a white man between 30 and 40 years old. Skinny with blonde hair. What did you think . Reporter ill tell you, in this arena last night, he had people eating out of his hand you can see where were standing is very close to where the delegates were standing and sitting last night during the speech. So you could see very closely what they were thinking and feeling on their faces. Some people were crying. Some people sort of spontaneously yelled out. And also from where we were sitting we could see the teleprompter. So you could see where he was pausing for dramatic effect, sort of repeating himself or embellishing what was on the prompter in an effort to work up the crowd. And it absolutely worked because at the end of a very long day at the end of a very long speech people had the energy to get up and dance after the balloons drops. After after balloons dropped. Tell us in another speech that got some attention not as much as ted cruzs the other night. What was the reaction to the speech delivered by Silicon Valley venture capitalist peter thiel . Her Campaign Says they havent made the final, final, final decision yet but he is the frontrunner the u. S. Senator from virginia and reportedly he was on the list of Vice President ial picks for barack obama back in 2008. Now, if he is the pick, he is going to have to do basically what governor pence did here in cleveland and thats introduce himself to democrats and the American Public at large. Verizon has been considered the leading contender in the bidding process which has been going on for months. The details are pretty thin. But at this point, bloomberg says that the deal will approach around 5 billion. It will not include yahoos patent portfolio. It could include some of its real estate. Ffa it happens it would leave yahoo as a Holding Company for its massive investment in chinese ecommerce from alibaba and also in yahoo japan. The wall street journal reports that pan dara re pandora rejected a takeover from Liberty Media the owner of the sirius satellite service. The journal also says that pandora is not opposed to a takeover as it approached apple and amazon earlier this year about a potential buyout but so far nothing has happened on that front.
