On the left, san jose. On the right, the sunol grade. Another reminder of our deepening drought. Today new information from the National Weather service about a possible el nino. Chief meteorologist is here now with more. El nino doesnt mean for sure our drought problems will be involved. Soes certainly. The other news that did come out today is the fact this el nino pattern will likely be a little bit weaker than originally thought. So as we look right now, the thing we want to take a look at when we analyze the pattern is the fact that the Ocean Temperatures we have not seen a huge increase in the water temperatures. So again, climatologists, thats signaling the pattern overall is its weaker than we originally thought. Predictions were still up from april. The current prediction is 68 chance of El Nino Development by winter. So the next i want to take you to is something i want to look at when we analyze the charts back in the weather office. Its the el nino forecast models. Theres going to be a lot of lines on this. Its a line graph. Just know this graphic is going to get very messy. As we put this into motion, were going see where the lines tend to converge the most. Thats where you will have a higher probability of the el nino happening. You can see its converging the most under moderate and also weak. So if we were to have a weak el nino occur where you see the lines are lining up to show us that has a probability of happening, it would mean that we would have 20. 67 inches of rainfall. Thats a little less than what we would typically have in an average water year. Now, if we were to have a moderate el nino what youre going to find is we will see slightly more than we would have in an average year about 24. 9 inches. So all in all the news that we have learned today is there is still a great likelihood of el nino developing by fall and winter. And at best, it looks like our rainfall totals could actually be on track for this upcoming season. So thats some good news at this point. Very good information. Thank you, jeff. The west coast is progressive. And i suppose that just falls in line with the bay area. The giants dont want is this sort of thing sparked by a fan confronting another fan. I asked bighorse what we would do if at a braves game he saw an atlanta fan doing the tomahawk chop. Maybe your viewers will text security and say this is culturally insensitive behavior. Would you talk to that fan . I would rather not.
