Reporter thats right, the Prosecutor Says nothing they can do can bring the boy back but they intend to get justice. Now, the boy the young manmade his First Court Appearance today, the judge actually agreed to continue the hearing to give the public tee tender more time to review the evidence. Though the hearing was short, were learning a lot more tonight about the crime. 18yearold William Shultz showed no emotion as he appeared in court for the first time to face charges he murdered his best friends little brother. Prosecutors say the teenager used a knife he bought himself to fatally stab nineyearold jordan al m gram as he slept in his star wars pajamas. It is the worst of the worst and very troubling as a father to have to look at the pictures of this young boy. Reporter shultz is also charged with one count of residential burglary. Prosecutors claim he stole the family car. After the killing he entered another room in the house and took some keys to a family vehicle and then used that vehicle to effectuate his escape. Shultzs attorney claims Mental Illness is to blame. The teens family called the Sheriffs Department the day before the attack requesting a Mental Health check, but officers concluded he didnt meet the criteria to detain him. The pain the teenagers family now feels was on display as his mother quietly sobbed in court. Theres no question that Mental Illness was behind this, yes. Its our position that he clearly was able to form the intent and he knew what he was doing when he committed this crime. There is some relief tonight for a bay area mother as shes reunited with her four month old baby. San Francisco Police say the baby was inside of a car that was stolen from a home on golden gate avenue. Thats in the tenderloin district. It happened at around 10 40 this morning. Police found the car about a mile away near the Public Defenders Office and thats also where they assisted solomon anemu, the man who allegedly stole the car. I dont know at this point whether the suspect knew if a child was in the back seat. We want to make sure that we were able to locate the vehicle quickly and thankfully we were able to within ten minutes, alemu faces charges of child en dangerment and theft. Be alert and be aware.
