So were looking at the chance of thunderstorms, winds 15 to about 30 Miles Per Hour with the highest risk in napa, marin and sonoma counties. As we look at our storm system for saturday we could see upwards of a half inch rainfall in the north bay. Winds gusting 15 to 30 Miles Per Hour and that possibility of thunderstorms. Were going to have the full time line on the storm system coming up in a little bit. Also the impact to the world series. Weve seen tonight they started to tarp the field. Well let you know what youre our chances are for rain in about ten minutes. Now to a developing story. Were learning more about the violent chain of events in and around sacramento that led to the deaths of two sheriffs deputies. One from placer county, the other from Sacramento County both killed in the line of duty following a manhunt. Both suspects are behind bars but theres plenty of questions, especially what spark add the carnage. Cheryl hurd is live in sacramento and joins us with the latest. Youre near where it all started. Thats right. It all started here at this motel 6 marking lot. Police officers are just wrapping up the scene. Its been a long day for Deputy Sheriff whos just lost two of their own. We live as a family. Today we grieve as a family. And tomorrow, we will start healing as a family. Sacramento county sheriff scott jones telling reporters that his he Law Enforcement family is struggling to cope with the loss of two the Deputy Sheriffs killed in the line of duty. Police say danny oliver, a veteran with the Sacramento CountySheriffs Department was the first to be killed by a man with a rifle in this motel 6 parking lot. After the suspect eluded police for hours from sacramento to auburn, Officials Say detective Michael Davis junior was also shot and killed by the gunman. I dont have a lot of details on the events that led up to this. Theyre currently under investigation. I can assure you that the scene was incredibly chaotic. Reporter the chaos started at 10 30 this morning. No one knows why but sheriff oliver walked up to a car in the motel parking lot. The gunman identified as Marcello Marquez allegedly opened fire striking oliver in the forehead. From there, police say marquez and a female accomplice went on a carjacking spree. Shooting a man who refused to give up his car. The woman was arrested. Police say he later turned his rifle on Deputy Sheriff davis killing him. Amazingly, michaels father, Michael Davis senior, was a Riverside CountyDeputy Sheriff and he was killed in the line of duty october 24th, 1988. Exactly 26 years ago. Today. Reporter following one of the largest man hunts in sacramento history, marquez surrendered to deputies after hiding in a home in auburn. I think theres those people that would say you know what . I wish you had killed him. No. Thats not who we are. We are not him. Reporter now, we do know a little bit about him tonight. We are told that he is from salt lake city, utah. Meanwhile, there was a third Deputy Sheriff who was wounded in this crime spree. He is okay and recovering tonight. And the carjacking victim who was shot in the head we are told he was communicating before he left the scene. Reporting live from sacramento, im cheryl hurd, nbc bay area ne news. Tonight, there are tears in washington state. Fellow students are remembering the victims of a school shooting. It happened this morning in marysville, 40 miles north of seattle. Video now of that schools most recent homecoming. Students say the boy in this homecoming Supreme Court jalen fry berg is the person who opened fire at the school cafeteria. He was also on the Football Team at that high school. It happened during lunchtime. One female student was killed, four others were hurt. Police say he then turned the gun on himself. Students needless to say are in shock. He didnt seem like he was trouble at all. He seemed like a great kid. I never ever thought it would happen at our school. There are reports tonight the gunman recently got into a an fight with another boy over a girl. There is are also reports two of the victim whos survived are the gunmans cousins. A new twist in the chp scandal involving nude photos. The officer says it was a game, stealing racy photographs from women and sharing them with other officers. Court documents show he told investigators of the socalled game. The attorney for one of the alleged victims confirms that an search warranty documents implicate more officers in the investigation. The documents reveal several officers made vulgar comments to each other about photos taken from the phones of people they arrested. The Attorney Says he believes the evidence shows a pattern and practice of stealing confidential pictures annan lawfully sharing them. The d. A. s office is investigating but so far, nobody has been charged in this case. From paper toer. A man accused of peeping through a hotel window at two the little girls is under arrest tonight. Police arrested jose garcia in palo alto and say he looked through the window of a room at the oaks motel as the couple dressed two young daughters. The father confronted garcia and had the hotel call police. Garcia now faces a felony charge for violating probation. Strict new quarantine rules ares in effect in new york and new jersey after another Health Care Worker was placed in isolation over ebola concerns. Shes under quarantine while her colleague is being treated for the deadly virus in a new york hospital. Nbc bay areas Kimberly Terry joins us with the latest development. A woman who an rbied from west africa today was initially quarantined even though not showing any symptoms. She since developed a fever and tonight remains in isolation in a new jersey hospital emergency crews took a Health Care Worker to Newark University hospital today. Almost immediately upon her an rival at newarks airport. Its part of a state mandated 21day quarantine for anyone who has had contact with ebola patients in west africa. Weve agreed its the right way to go. The nevins of new york and new jersey came together to announce the enhanced screening at airports in their state. The new measures come one day after a doctor who recently returned from an assignment in guinea was diagnosed in new york. 33yearold dr. Craig spencer finished his first full day of treatment in isolation today. His doctors say they are very confident in their treatment protocol and his prognosis. This afternoon, the first person who contract the ebola virus in the u. S. Was released from the National Institutes of health. Nurse nina fam says she feels fortunate to be free from ebola and eager to get home to dallas. Try to get back to a normal life and reunite with my dog bentley. First she made a stop at the oval office and got a hug from president obama sending the message someone cured of ebola is not contagious. The way you get ebola is by direct contact with the body fluids of an ill individual. And if you dont have that, you do not have to worry about ebola. I think thats important to point out that you must separate the issue of the risk to a general public with the risks with brave people like nina and her colleagues. Theyre two different things. Federal officials now say theyre considering a similar move to the one taken in new jersey and new york. Its comfortable. Im able to move around. The hospital is now equipped with four designated ebola an rooms that includes an isolation bubble that minimizes exposure from infected patients being transported through the hospital. The controversial plan is moving forward. The possibility of charging a toll to walk or bike across the Golden Gate Bridge. Take you outside. A live look at the bridge at this hour. Earlier today, the Golden Gate Bridge district nearly split down the middle on keeping the controversial pedestrian toll plan on the table. They did approve it. Lets take you into the microclimate forecast as we head throughout saturday. There are some huge differences here. Temperatures down 10 to 15 degrees from what we experienced today. Then everyones got the chance of rainfall and also the possibility of thunderstorms. San jose expecting 68 degrees. Morgan hill 71, peninsula heavier rainfall pacifica and 67. And in San Francisco, were also looking at that chance of rain and temperatures remaining in the 60s. To the north bay, east bay and trivalley, the thing you want to Pay Attention to here if you live in the north bay, the highest risk of thunderstorms will be in this location with the heaviest chance of some of those heavier pockets of rainfall. For the trivalley, upper 60s and low 70s and also a chance of rainfall, as well. Lets break it down a lot more for you on the rain future cast. Well take it hour by hour. What youre going to see is by 1 00 a. M. , the bulk of rain is offshore. As we get a look at tomorrow morning at 6 00 a. M. , we start to see the rain move across marin, napa and sonoma counties near San Francisco. It takes longer to get to san jose. By 9 00 a. M. , well start to get it there. Then a little bit of lull in the activity by the afternoon. Were going to get instability building in. Thats where we could see thunderstorms firing off in the north bay at about 2 00. Then as we head throughout 5 00, game four of the world series. Right now the forecast model has it dry. Check out what its doing at 7 00. Still instability left in the atmosphere. That may produce rainfall again at 7 00. After that, by the late evening is hours and sunday, we clear out. Well probably get about a tenth inch in the south bay and possibly for the north bay, right around a half an inch. A decent system for us. When it comes to the wind, it is going to be gusty. We may get trees down, minor Power Outages tomorrow morning. Winds out of the south.
