Track a developing story. A texas nurse has gone from being a caregiver to a patient. Last week she was part of a medical team that was treating the first patient diagnosed with ebola in the u. S. Now tonight she is back inside Texas Health Presbyterian hospital in isolation. She is fighting the deadly disease herself. The centers for Disease Control say that a breach in hospital protocol caused the infection. Officials wont release the nurses name at this time, but they did say she had extensive contact with Thomas Eric Duncan before he died from ebola. They theyd she did wear a protective suit while treating duncan, but infection can happen when its removed. You might have fluid on your equipment you. Might have infectious stuff on your hand. Getting it off effectively without contaminating yourself is hard. Right now hazmat teams are preparing to decontaminate the nurses apartment. President obama is pushing the cdc to move quickly as possible in investigating the infection. Bay area nurses weighing in on this latest development, calling for hospitals to take immediate action to protect them from ebola. Nbc bay areas Marianne Favro joins us live in san jose with a closer look at why nurse says hospitals need to do more. Marianne . Reporter terry, here at the Santa Clara CountyPublic Health department, they have been working with hospitals to make sure theyre prepared to handle any possible ebola cases. But bay area nurses spoke out today saying still hospitals are not doing enough to protect them. We believe that all of our hospitals in the bay area are woefully unprepared. Reporter nurses are sounding the alarm, urging bay area hospitals to do more to protect Health Care Worker, patients, and the community. In oakland, rns with National Nurses united say a new survey of nearly 2,000 nurses nationwide shows the breakdown in infection control. 76 of the nurses surveyed said their hospital has not told them about a policy for ebola admissions. And more than a third said their hospital doesnt have enough eye protection or fluidresistant gowns. Their concerns are heightened now that a Dallas Health care worker tested positive for the ebola virus after caring for Thomas Eric Duncan, the first patient to die from the virus in a u. S. Hospital. We are saying here today that not one more patient, not one more Health Care Worker or one more nurse should be infected. In this country, we have the resources to contain and eradicate, but only as what the nurses just said with proper training. Reporter the nurses deliver their preparedness message in front of a Kaiser Permanente hospital in oakland saying skieser in South Sacramento didnt adequately handle a suspected ebola case in august. Doctors later determined the patient did not have the ebola virus. Kaiser issued this response saying Kaiser Permanente is fully prepared to evaluate and treat suspected and identified cases of ebola virus disease while providing the utmost protection for all of our health care providers. We are confident in our preparedness plan. Santa clara countys Public Health officer dr. Sarah cody is also confident in the countys plan. She says the Health Department has been working with local hospital, private doctors and paramedics to make sure theyre on the lookout for symptoms of ebola and follow critical steps to prevent the spread of infection. But these nurse says throughout the bay area, more still needs to be done. We are remaining extremely concerned about the lack of preparedness. People lining up probably already just to see what it is. Meteorologist anthony slaughter standing by. Were wait here to see what its going to look like. Its going to be a nice this upcoming week. A little more tolerable, if you will. Look at these hot temperatures what we saw today. This is definitely above average by about 25 degrees in some locations. Up to 100 degrees. Even santa rosa at 98. San jose 95, and San Francisco and oakland, both, both of you guys at 91 degrees. So it was hot everywhere. Even at the coastline today. And its all because we have an area of High Pressure that is sitting off the coast of california. This thing here has been driving our winds around it. And you get that clockwise rotation. So all day long, weve had winds that have been offshore. But we have a cold front that is headed our way. And in fact you can see it denoted by the cloud cover here and the rain. This cold front is actually expected to move through as we head through the day on tuesday. To tuesday evening, expect to see some raindrops on that windshield and coming down from the sky. Really going to be looking good, especially in the north bay. Thats where well have the greatest chance tuesday evening. Tomorrow, expect the dry day, but its still going to be very warm. Back into the upper 80s. Mid to upper 80s for the shore and peninsula, even in San Francisco while you were at 91 today, 80 for tomorrow and in the north bay, expect another scorching day, 91 there. Walnut creek, youll be at 91 tomorrow. And livermore back to 89 degrees. So well wake up tomorrow with clear skies starting around 7 00. You can see really not a bunch of activity on the futurecast. Tomorrow afternoon and evening, the fog does return to the coastline from santa rosa, even in the San Francisco and starts to inundate santa cruz. And then as we head through tuesday, this is when well start to see the a little bit of drizzle for tuesday morning. You can see the computer model starts to pick that up along the santa cruz mountains. And up toward the north bay. But the heavy rains, the more substantial stuff, thats not going to move through until tuesday night. Were actually going to get through most of tuesday all day dry. And then as we head towards 7 00, 8 00 in the evening, you can see the line of shower activity moving towards santa rosa. It will be raining by tuesday night around 11 00. And then that rain, it starts to fall apart quite a bit. But it looks like it holds together enough to get over toward the trivalley and down into the south bay. While we wont get a whole lot of rain, i do think wednesday morning most of us will wake up to wet roadways. We have another chance of rain coming our way as we head towards friday. Its going to take a west to east trajectory. This could give us some more substantial amounts. And this is definitely going to be the one that we keep an eye on, because were talking rainfall in the inches. We could be looking at 1 to 2 inches before its all said and done by friday afternoon. So a quick recap does show temperatures starting off very warm from the north bay to the south bay tomorrow. And then we really tumble. Keep those jackets handy, because by tuesday, youre going to need them. Even some rain coming in tuesday night into wednesday. Raiders reporter raiders fans often get called out for their ruffian tendencies, a rambunctious, roundly di lot capable of less than respectful behavior. But after sundays incident where two valley men knocked a man unconscious reportedly over the use of a stall, does oakland really have the rougher fan base . We did some digsing, comparing to raiders games. And here is what we found. Through three games at the coliseum, two preseason contests and a regular season bout, oaklands Police Department and the Alameda CountySheriffs Office report an average of 12. 3 arrests per game, peaking at 21 on september 14th against the texans. The niners have played five games at levis stadium, three regular season and two preseason games and have racked up an average of 25. 2 arrests per game, according to santa claras Police Department. All right. I wont go into that. Lets talk about our weather right now. Keep an eye on this. Yeah, look at this. Every advantage point is clear from the north bay to San Francisco, even through the south bay right now. Not a cloud in the sky. And no fog to speak of as well. So were starting off the evening very nice. And thats going to be indicative of what is headed your way for tomorrow. Fogfree skies to wake up. Very warm in the south bay. 89 degrees. This the peninsula, youll be back into the mid to upper 80s as well. Even the east shore is still going to be hard to beat the heat from there. Oakland, fremont, places like that expected mid80s. Even in San Francisco tomorrow 80 degrees. And in the north bay, 91. The trivalley will still be warm as well. The temperatures coming down out of the 90s like you were today, back into the upper 80s. So while it will still be hot across most of the bay area, we do have changes coming our way. In fact you can see this big area of blue. Thats not just the ocean, but thats an area of High Pressure, sitting off the coast of california. Then youve got all of the cloud activity moving in. This is our cold front that is expected to slide through. And thats the one that is going to bring us a few showers as we head towards tuesday. Its also going to cool us dramatically, as i mentioned. Tomorrow temperatures are still going to be very warm. 91 in santa rosa. 80 in San Francisco. 86 in san jose. But look what happens when tuesday comes. The rain comes in. And were talking about a 20 to 25degree drop in temperatures in some lace places. Even San Francisco, youll go down 12 degrees back to 68 degrees on tuesday. 71 in santa rosa. And the rain is most likely going to impact you on tuesday during the day at the coastline and in the north bay. Then as we head towards wednesday, it will spread south for wednesday morning. And temperatures are actually going to stay near average, believe it or not. Our average high in san jose is in the 70s. Not the 90s like we saw for today. The rain futurecast does tell the story as we head through the day tomorrow. Plenty of sunshine, lots of blue sky. As we head toward the evening hours, thats when the shower activity, or at least the drizzle activity is expected at the coastline. Then for tuesday morning, expect a few areas of patchy drizzle. And the shower activity actually doesnt get here until about tuesday night. So tuesday night into wednesday morning, thats the time frame to watch, especially if youre going to be doing any traveling on any bay area road waist. And then as question head to our friday, our next system lines up and starts to make its advance into the bay area. This one sticks around through saturday. We have two rain chances this upcoming week. The first through tuesday night into wednesday. And the next moves through on friday. Theyll be hot tomorrow and then cool as we head towards tuesday.
