Mali forces are hunting for more than three suspects in the attack that left for 37 people dead, including a mom that has ties to San Francisco. A Chinese Company said three of their executives are killed and mali television reports that a tenday state of emergency has been declared. The attack happened to the companys capital of bamako. A car with diplomatic tags pulled up to the hotel, heavilyarmed men stormed into the building and took hostages. That set off a sevenhour standoff before Security Forces moved in and freed most of the hostages. An Extremist Group is claiming responsibility for the attack. Heres the picture of the american killed in the attack. Shes been identified as 41yearold anita datar. Datar leaves behind an Elementary School aged son. Datars brother is here from San Francisco, and it is here that she also spent time in the bay area. Mali is one of the poorest countries in the world with a great need for Public Health care, which is what she was trying to help address there. We have the story. 41yearold anita datar was in mali to do good when people bent on hurting the innocent took her life. We are devastated by the loss of our wonderful daughter who was doing the work she loves. A former peace corps member, she was the mother of a young boy and had family in the bay area. They declined to comment. To datar was working in washington, to d. C. A founding board member of a nonprofit, whose aim is to help women around the world get healthcare. Shes now among the dozens dead after the attack on a hotel in the capital city of bamako. I opened the door a little ity bit and i saw on the floor bullets. This morning a 16yearold boy from berkeley remains in Critical Condition after being beaten on the street earlier this week. The victims mother tells abc7 news her son was the victim of bullying. She said Police Arrested six suspects, four adults and two minors in connection with the attack, but for some reason the adults were released three days later. Police will not say if the minors that were arrested were let go, as well. The victims mother said her son witnessed an earlier fight and was bullied by some of the people who were fighting. He was asked to choose a side to be on, and hes like im not choosing a side because im not in this. I dont know, you know, what you want me to do, but im friends with everybody. The teen suffered severe brain trauma. Berkeley police say the case is still under investigation. A man is accused of ripping a twoyearold boy away from his mother on a San Francisco muni bus. Police say it happened on Tuesday Morning at samsung and washington streets. With the frantic mother ran after the man and was able to pull her boy back to safety. They said its rare to see that. Mostly it dealt more with family disputes, either relatives or it was a husband and wife incident. But not a complete stranger who decided they wanted to randomly take especially a twoyearold child at that age right in front of his mother. The man is now in jail. Police arrested him yesterday morning after recognizing him from a crime alert sent out to law enforcement. Waking up to 46 in concord and livermore, and finally another look outside from our sutro tower camera where it will be kind of spring like again today. With the fog at the coast from the marin county coast, and really the san mateo coast should be clear. We will look for the cooler weather to arrive. Tuesday it will take us all the way through thanksgiving, the day after with the chance of showers. Not a lot of rain unfortunately. Right now its all about the big blue high to the east and to the west. Thats our fair weather maker. And the light offshore flow keeps the numbers above average. Brings us the spring warmth. And with the trajectory of this low moving over the lapped, and not the ocean, its going to keep us dry and bring that cold, cold air down from the arctic, bringing the coldest air of the season so far since last january. So that will bring overnight lows below freezing by the time you are getting situated for the holidays. So with livermore in mind, we are in the 40s now. That will be typical. Stay that way through Tuesday Morning. Wednesday morning 36 and the cold air could bring a light sprinkle with the morning dropping off below freezing right on through next weekend. The chances of rain continue to diminish. This is San Francisco with just a little bit of a chance on tuesday. A better chance on wednesday. With the amounts less than a quarter inch, maybe even only a tenth of an inch, if we see anything at all. Trending dryer but certainly cold into the thanksgiving holiday. 72 the warm spot in livermore and morgan hill. 74 santa cruz. Oakland in the low 70s today. 74 in napa. And later open this evening this is what i mean with the mild start. Still in the 60s at 7 30. Dropping into the 50s by late in the evening. The accuweather sevenday forecast, maybe a couple degrees of cooling tomorrow but overall the cooling begins on monday with 60s raving. Not even that by tuesday. A slight chance of showers into wednesday, thanksgiving very, very chilly with frosty mornings right on through next friday. A berkeley woman turning to social media in hopes of finding her Engagement Ring. There is hope someone found the ring and just hasnt bp able to find its owner. We are in this together. Last month melanie was at the 49ers game against the ravens to accept a check as part of a charity group. Prior to kickoff she was standing outside the f gate. It was warm so she did what many of us have done before. I took my rings off because i didnt want to get them caked in sunscreen so i set them down. After applying the sunscreen, melanie went to grab her things atop a golf cart but she forgot about the rings, not realizing it until about 30 minutes later. 49er staffer found one of the rings.
