Her roommate tells me she still expects her to walk through the door. Thats what it feels like. Its going to be a mistake. Shes going to come home. But its not. Reporter samuel found out this morning the woman struck and killed during a Police Pursuit was his roommate and friend. Its surreal. I still havent comprehended it. It seems like its not real it didnt happen. Reporter San Francisco police say they attempted to pull over three men suspected of robbing people at gun point friday night and the days prior. But the men sped away. Around 10 00 tourists witnessed the pursuit. I could hear the emergency vehicles, and looked up the hill. And watched what appeared to be a black fourdoor sedan literally coming over and hitting every bump, like it was airborne. Reporter the suspects car hit bridget in the crosswalk. The 42yearold loved her career in the food industry. She loved her job. She worked hard. Reporter some questioned why police engaged on a friday night with so many people at risk. Because there was violent felony involved and there was also the use of deadly force. Officers were allowed to pursue this vehicle. Reporter the driver hit another pedestrian who sustained nonlifethreatening injuries. At a third crash scene, the driver hit a car at 8th and harrison. Nobody was injured. They need to be caught before they kill someone else. Reporter the suspects ditched the car. Acting weird. When he figures out shes not coming home, hes going to be pretty sad. Reporter in San Francisco, abc 7 news. Her father spoke with us on the phone from his home in north carolina. She had a great sense of humor. Was always fun to be around. Lifes a party. Just enjoyed living, and enjoyed working for the food service group. He wants his daughter to be remembered for being full of life. In oakland today, an amtrak train hit and killed a by sick willist. The plan was on the tracks near east 10th street just before 1 00 this afternoon. Theyre trying to determine why the man didnt move off the tracks as the train approached. Expect more traffic delays in San Francisco along van nuys avenue, between gary boulevard and post street is closed as crews work to build an underground tunnel that will connect the future hospital and medical office building. Installing effectively temporary structural walls. Thats all were trying to accomplish this weekend. Those walls will be a part of the temporary structure that will allow us to continue work all summer long. Underneath van nuys. And a permanent tunnel structure. Lanes will reopen tomorrow at midnight. Two more closures, though, are planned. Theyll take place april 24th through the 26th and labor day weekend. Tomorrows day five of cleanup on a big cement spill in oakland. Crews will be back out at Glen Echo Creek at 8 00 in the morning. Abc 7 news was there as they used pick axes and shovels to break up and remove the 12 truckloads of cement that spilled on wednesday. The work will continue into next week. Its going really well so far. Theres a tremendous amount of work to do. And its all picks and shovels and jackhammers. Its hot dirty work. About 20 of the area still needs to be cleaned. It was a subcontractor for east bay mud that accidently allowed cement to pour out of a pipe into the creek as they were putting the pipe out of commission. New details, San Jose Police hatch arrested a 17yearold suspected of burglarizing a home tuesday morning. Surveillance video caught the burglar outside the home around 2 00 a. M. The homeowner locked her bedroom door, called police and scared him away by screaming. The san jose teenager was arrested today. Police were able to talk down a man who climbed onto an electrical tower this morning. The 47yearold was nearly threequarters up the tower and witness the say he was yelling at police to shoot him. It took about 3 1 2 hours to get him down. He fell the last 15 feet and taken to the hospital with a possible fractured tailbone. Cal state east bay Officials Say a rumored threat of a possible shooting on the hayward campus today is unfounded. But extra police were on campus today. The scare came after a student overheard a group of people talking about bringing guns to campus today. Students faculty and staff were immediately alerted. 200 Police Officers California National guard members, and firefighters came together in richmond today to learn how to handle a dirty bomb. They learned about decontamination, medical response security and how to properly dispose of explosives. The goal, to get agencies to Work Together if an incident happens. On this sunny saturday these plastic bags became the latest accessory for this leisurely crowd at delores park. Park patrons glady used them. San francisco has a reputation for being a really dirty place. Anything we can do to fix that is awesome. I can imagine theres a lot of people that are bringing a lot of stuff. Reporter the supervisor spent his afternoon with the volunteers. Weve had a lot of challenges in the park with people leaving enormous amounts of trash. You know it takes a village to manage a park. Reporter at ft. Mason Park National park rangers used a different approach. If you have glass here, you will be receiving a citation. Reporter the chief ranger said his officers issued more than 50 citations in a few hours. Glass is not permitted on federal parklands and that was the reason so many people were cited. Last month, the National Park service took to social media to blast partiers who trashed the place. Among those blamed were contestants for a pageant called mr. Marina. I think the enforcement is probably good for people to be cognizant of the park and keep things clean. State firefighters are getting ready for what could be another aggressive fire season. It began southeast of sacramento. Every year they team up with the National Guard to fight fires. Cal fire has responded to more than 600 fires so far this year, including 150 just last week. The last few years have all been considered very bad fire seasons. Police are still looking for three Armed Robbery suspects who were in the stolen car that hit her. In san jose Surveillance Video helped Police Arrest a teenager wanted for burglary. Crews are building an underground tunnel for the Pacific Medical center. Lockdown at the u. S. Capitol today. Investigators swarmed the building after a man with a gunshot himself. North charleston Police Officer Michael Slager stopped scott april 4th for a broken taillight. Relatives suspect scott took off in fear of going to jail again over missed Child Support payments. Ramsey ota was released after spending two months on rikers island. He was arrested for allegedly selling drugs to undercover officers. The 2yearold boy is recovering after falling into the cheetah exhibit at a cleveland zoo today. Witnesses say the parents held the boy over the railing into the exhibit, and then accidently dropped him. The parents quickly went into the exhibit to get the child. He suffered a leg injury. Shes suing the San Ramon School district and the principal for 15 million. She sat down with abc 7 News Reporter Tiffany Wilson for her First Television interview. Reporter newspaper clippings capture her on the court. But her memories of high school are buried in these journals. I lived with shame. I thought it was my fault. Reporter wilson said her basketball coach started a sexual relationship with her when she was 16. Often giving her drugs and writing notes like this to excuse her from class. He was a person in authority. And we were were still taught you listen to people in authority. And you respect them. And thats what i did. Reporter eventually wilson said her parents discovered the illicit relationship and confronted the principal at San Ramon Valley high school. The principal came up with a told my parents that my four younger siblings would have to go to a Different School if in came out. And it would just be better for everybody if it didnt come out. Reporter so nobody ever contacted police. Wilson says her coach was allowed to stay on the condition he stop any physical relationship with her. What allegedly happened next still brings wilson to tears 30 years later. She says the principal james henderson, walked in on sandler having sex with her again. I just remember our eyes meeting, and i remember thinking, hes going to tell. Hes going to do something. Hes going to call the police now. This is going to be over. And i remember like a sense of relief. And he basically turned around and he locked the door. And he never said a word. Reporter in february, wilson filed a 15 million lawsuit against the School District and her former principal. Neither the School District principal nor former coach have returned multiple requests for comment. The case goes to court in july. We believe the court will rule in sharons favor. Because what happened here cant possibly be supported. Reporter wilson only came forward after reading about kristens similar experience with a middle school coach. That coach was convicted. Wilson hopes to empower other victims by sharing her story. It takes courage to talk about it. You know if i could help others do the same theyre going to become stronger and take control of their lives back. Reporter she also wants her story to serve as a cautionary tale for todays teens.
