Well learn how the canal plays a major role in western expansion. The ohio canal is part of a twocanal system that was put in place in the early years of america, built between 1825 and 1832. And basically its a water transportation route that connected lake erie with the ohio river which is part of a large idea, a National Water transportation route. In the early days of america, we had 13 colonies all situated along the atlantic seaboard. And our leaders at that time saw a problem. That problem was we needed that country to expand westward. However, there was a big obstacle. The appalachian mountains. Our first president , george washington, happened to be a canal engineer, had an idea. That idea was to create a transcontinental water
Safely socially distanced himself. One of the things we have really enjoyed during the coronavirus lockdown is coming out to ocean beach. Bringing our bikes. Getting to ride up and down. Having that free space. 2 locals who wish to remain anonymous started a website. The started collecting signatures to make this a permanent part. One organizer said that 70 percent of the signatures are from residence. The other 30 percent are from suffers and cyclist. I think that is a great idea. The more we can diversify transportation and provide options for people to safely ride a skateboard or walk, and be able to take in the great views of the ocean are terrific. I do not think we will miss that one. A long flat paved areas at the park the national park. Accessible to people with disabilities. Making it a reality likely will not be easy. There have been complaints of increased traffic. Traffic mitigation would need to be studied. We are used to coming up here. Were kind of shocked today when we
