So some sprinkles and thunderstorms in the mountains of the sierra nevada. This is all going to diminish as we get into the afternoon. So some good news there. There were a couple of fires that started yesterday. They were small. I think they were put out down around big sur, the fog and low clouds allowing for a pretty typical start this morning. And by noontime, some patches right around the san mateo coast, marin, but it gets swept away and weve got full sunshine. There should be a nice day. 60s again. And look how much fog comes back into your monday morning. Upper level winds are out of the north and so i think the north bay will see less fog, whereas the south bay and the peninsula get into more low clouds into your monday morning with the breeze. It will be a comfortable day. But still theres more fog for the san mateo coast. Then for your monday. As for the temperatures, very similar. 70s and 80s very comfortable into tuesday. Notice the reds go away and we drop off into the 80s that should be the coolest day. Where on wednesday we might see a little bit of a bump up. Nothing too extreme. Highs today from 71 downtown. Sunny skies, 75 in oakland, 89 in santa rosa. So kind of warm for the north bay wine country there with 90 in antioch. Theres another look at the parade temperatures are going to be pleasant. Vta officials are weighing whether to put narcan on busses and trains as abc7 news south bay reporter zach fuentes has a look at the plan on fentanyl. Overdose deaths have been a problem plaguing the south bay. We have had a death as young as three months old from fentanyl poisoning all the way up to, you know, middle aged adults. Now a referral by county supervisor cindy chavez aims to put overdose reversal treatment narcan on vta busses, light rail cars and transit stations. Chavez is also a vice chair on vtas board of directors. We want to make narcan available and make it ubiquitous. Really anywhere that people are. This passenger who did not want to go on camera says he recently witnessed what he believes was an overdose on a bus. The paramedics came and had to take him off the bus and he was unconscious. And i dont know what happened to him after that, but i think that if he was dying, that narcan on the bus could have helped. We also spoke with other Public Transit users who support the possibility. I dont see any downsides to it. If it can, you know, potentially save someones life. But some have reservations, including some vta employees. I spoke with one who did not want to go on camera, the vta passenger william was also part of that conversation. I got a Big Education here today. The Concern Center around the pressure it could put on vta employees during an emergency, like giving mouth to mouth or Something Like that. You youve be practicing in your whole life and then you see somebody overdosing on drugs and you dont know exactly if youre doing the right thing and the right time. Chavez says training, education and support will be key. Very easy to use. Its a nasal spray that can be sprayed. And, you know, very quickly. And its intended to keep spraying as you keep the person alert until help arrives and because of that, the training is not long. Its not complicated. And while i think it could for some people feel like a lot of pressure, i think for others it will feel like an opportunity to help. For now, the referral would direct staff to look into the possibility of equipping vehicles and centers with narcan. If the board votes in favor of doing that thursday night, they would work with the Transit Union on the best ways to start the program. If that happens, chavez hopes vta will have the narcan by the beginning of next year in san jose. Zach fuentes, abc7 news. The weather now. Lets check in with lisa. All right. Good morning to you.
