11:00 a.m. it's open to the public and will go into the midafternoon. they will be honoring jim mathison. he was killed a week and of ago near petaluma. he had gone to a friend's how whose daughter was harassed by an ex-boyfriend. he shot the deputy and unarmed. when haloran tried to grab his ex-girlfriend's mother, a brother shot haloran to death. this will be remembering about jim mathsison. he went from the construction industry to pursuing his passion in law enforcement. he was 49 years old. on he had a wife and two sons, aged 18 and 21, one of them will be speaking at the service here later this morning. as you mention a memorial will be affecting traffic around the marin civic center, especially north san pedro road when things get going around 11:00 this morning but crowds will clara prosecutors will receive results from a private lab cyber tax that could link a murder ten years ago with the main suspect. the test could show fiber found inside a jeep came from a missing persian rug that was in her home. she disappeared in july 2001. he was arrested three years later but was released from 2007 after all the charges were dropped. in january, he was shot and killed at a san jose coffee shop by the brother in a murder-suicide. >> they want to examine the gun san francisco police say they found in connection with the death of a man in the bayview district. they say this is the weapon that kenneth harding was carrying when he confronted officers on july 16. investigators believe harding accidentally shot himself in the head after he suffered a gunshot wound to the leg during the shootout with officers. police say they recovered a gun from unidentified resident that may have taken it from the crime scene. four investigations are underway into the shooting. clock is ticking closer to next tuesday's debt deadline. house republicans will try for a third straight day that has debt ceiling bill that has no chances of surviving the senate. john boehner car. the 62-year-old victim says the suspect yelled about a pregnant woman going into labor. they exited at alameda del prado where she stopped the car and starred screaming. the suspect ran away. they found him and arrested him a short time later. they think the same man tried to flag down other drivers before officers caught him. the fate of california's voter enacted ban on gay marriage could be decided this fall. california supreme court has scheduled a september 6 hearing. at issue, whether the sponsors have the authority to fight rulings against the measure if the governor and attorney general refuse to do so. the question is critical to the ban. schwarzenegger and jerry brown refuse on to challenge the ruling that struck down prop 8. >> a youth organization is reeling after the theft of dozens of fishing poles. 100 were stolen from the fishing and city program at a park. it gives free access to a special event. distinctive poles are candy apple red and sticker terror attack in texas. private first class soldier was arrested after investigators found weapons, ammunition explosive devices and makeshift bomb lab in his hotel room. they tipped off authorities after becoming suspicious about a weapons purchase. >> somebody comes in and makes a purchase and doesn't know what he is buying, i would be concerned about it. i'm not bashful to point fingers, there is something wrong with this guy. >> in 2009, 13 people died in a mass shooting at fort hood when he used a pistol purchased at that same store. he says his muslim beliefs prevented him from fighting. the families of two former u.c. berkeley graduates imprisoned for two years, is holding a peaceful protest in front of the united nations. they are hoping a hearing in iran will end their ordeal. they are due in court what iranian authorities say will be their final hearing in their case. shourd was also arrested but released last september. the hearing comes two years to the day after they were here. >> jeff didn't think twice about the seven foot high fence that stood between him and a little girl. she and her parents were guests and residents at regency townhomes. one minute she was on her fathers shoulders in the pool and next there was silence. >> we climbed into the pool and didn't see them. it was dark. so he noticed a shadow at the deep end of the pool and he swam over it and looked under the water and he saw them underwater. >> he is unknown hero number one. he single handedly dove and brought the girl and father back up to the surface. that is when jeff bale hero number two stepped in. >> the mother of the girl said she did not know cpr. >> the teacher has taken several cpr classes and within a minute the little girl was breathing again and so was her father. he was responding very slowly. >> the gentleman, he was breathing but his eyes were literally rolling up. >> i toukd this them that brought them in. >> it's still not clear how the father and daughter ended 100,000 people are expected to attend. expect heavy traffic in the gilroy area all weekend. local businesses are reaping the benefits with most hotels already sold out. main event is on saturday with a great garlic cook-off where eight chefs will battle to win the garlic crown. last year they raised $270,000 for local charities. get out there and get that garlic ice cream and get going. >> noon, maybe 1:00 and keeping you in the 60s. 70s and 80s will dominate most of the neighborhoods and 90s will till terrify in the south bay valleys. low to upper 80s. to 87 in los gatos. in between we'll have 83 in san jose. 80s will dominate, men low park and you can see what the clouds around the coast with low to mid-50s for you. mid to upper 50s in downtown san francisco and even a 70 in sausalito. clouds will probably hang around the north bay coast keeping you to the low to mid 50s. temperatures running to the upper 70s to mid-80s around novato and sonoma. low to mid-70s richmond and oakland and castro valley and fremont. there you can see the low to mid 90s in the east bay valleys. also you head down towards gilroy, 91 and 20 degrees cooler in watsonville. >> as far as what is going to happen around today, you see the thunderstorms around yosemite at 93. tahoe at 84. otherwise hot in the central valley, near hundred degree temperatures. seven-day forecast, not much of a
