Delaware. Peter . Dana, good afternoon. As the Biden Campaign also launches a new ad focusing on africanamerican voters, that a candidate is getting quite a bit more attention for a comment that he made comparing africanamericans to latinos. Unlike the Africanamerican Community with notable exceptions, the Latino Community is an incredibly diverse community. With incredibly different attitudes about different thin things. One Trump Campaign advisor tweeted that comment is racist and the president himself who believes hes done more for africanamericans and any president since lincoln added this. So i just watch the clip and joe biden this morning totally disparaged and insulted the black community. Quite a bit of excitement in bidens neighborhood today, a house fire near his residence brought the Fire Department but biden remained inside his place working on the Convention Speech that hes going to deliver in delaware. Biden says he still thinks its going to be an exciting convention and its still going to be four nights of content that has the potential to look a little like the super bowl halftime show or the tony awards because the producer of the Democratic Party has hired has also led those events in the past. We still dont know which location in delaware democratic officials are thinking of sticking biden but whatever they pick, delaware is about to become the center of the political universe in the next two weeks, this is where the next democratic vp nominee is going to be selected and its where the next democratic nominee for president is going to make his acceptance speech. Dana . Dana peter, if the convention is anything like last years super bowl halftime show we are in for something else. Cant wait to see that. All right, peter, thank you. Im trying to think of what was last year, sure. Dana j. Lo and shakira, remember . All right. Over in washington, the white house says the clock is ticking for congress to come up with a plan to help struggling americans. The president s chief of staff says if there is no agreement by friday there will likely wont be a deal at all which is almost hard to believe but chad pergram, our Congressional Correspondent will explain it all to us now, hes on capitol hill. Chad . These talks are stalled, hundreds of billions of dollars apart and you have republican senators just leaving the capital, the last mode of the weekend they were very skeptical that there could be a deal, theres just too much of a divide here at this stage and thats why they are getting worried that there may not be ideal. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi continues to insist on an extra 600 a week for those off the job. When they come to the table and are like 600 . How could it be . They are just demonstrating their condescension to americas working families. Republicans are offering only 400 of extra jobless benefits of a week and pelosi rejected any stopgap renewal of aid. Mitch mcconnell was at the white house this morning. Any accord will need democratic votes because some republicans are reluctant to take further action. About 15 or 20 of my members that believe that we have already added quite enough to the national debt. We have a debt now the size of our economy for the First Time Since world war ii so there are differences of opinion but that wouldnt get an outcome. Its possible they could try at the white house to go around congress, something i was hearing this morning as theres about 140 billion from the old Coronavirus Money that has not been used yet and also from the Disaster Relief fund that they could try to reprogram. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, though, was skeptical that they could do that officially. Back to you, dana. Dana chad pergram, keep an eye on it. Thank you. As millions of americans are forced to wait for help from washington, many more are joining them. According to the labor department, nearly 1. 2 million americans filed for Unemployment Benefits last week. Thats the 20th straight week at least millions have done so. Before the pandemic that number has never topped 700,000. And it breaks a current number of americans receiving benefits to 16 million. And a fox news alert, a live look at capitol hill warehouse lawmakers are holding a hearing on one of the biggest issues affecting american families, reopening schools. To keep an eye on this and bring you any big developments. Meanwhile, two Atlanta School districts are under scrutiny for making masks optional. Steve harrigan has more from atlanta. Steve . Dana, there is some backlash in two of the georgia Public Schools which open for in Person Learning on monday because of some photographs posted online that showed big crowds of Young Students as well as not a lot of social distancing, not a lot of maskwearing, either. One of the schools is about 35 miles outside of atlanta, the superintendent has responded to critics and said masks are optional. They are following all state guidelines he also said the few minutes the students were together in crowds was not enough to spark any infections. He said Wearing Masks is a personal choice and theres no way to enforce a mask mandate. In the meantime governors of six states have now banded together to buy rapid covid testing kits. Maryland governor to my Governor Hogan released the following statement. With the federal administration attempting to cut funding for testing, the states are banding together to acquire millions of faster tests to help save lives and slow the spread of covid19. The initial purchase of these tests will be 3 million tests and the results should be ready in about 15 minutes time. Dana, back to you. Dana thats an improvement. Thank you, steve. David spent his life at the white house with more for us. David . Twitter has been to flagging some of the president s comments but this is the first Time Facebook is actively gotten involved. In fact they took a post down, twitter froze the Twitter Campaign account of the president s Reelection Campaign until they removed a video. This all surrounds comments that President Trump made on fox friends yesterday morning. Both the social media giants argue with the president said was misinformation about kids contracting covid19, watch. This thing is going away, it will go away like things go away and my view is that schools should be open. If you look at children, children are almost, i would almost say definitely but almost immune from this disease. Dana, facebook writing this video includes false claims that a group of people is immune from covid19 which is a violation of our policies. Twitter with a similar comment, the tweet he referenced is in violation of the twitter rules on covid19 misinformation, the account owner will be required to remove the tweet before they can tweet again. Kellyanne conway weighed in. I think they have to make up their mind. The president signed an executive order about the tax companies, the tech overlords telling us what is and is not legitimate on health matters. The Tech Companies had an issue with the word immunity. Id expect both companies to be watching this closely from both campaigns, not just the Trump Campaign over the next few months as we headed to the election. Dana . Dana thats for sure. All right, david, thanks so much. For more on this lets bring in lara trump, Campaign Advisor and daughterinlaw to President Trump. Its wonderful to have you on the show, i know you are a mom and moms across the country of any political stripes, love their children more than anything. Take a look at this little compilation of moms and their concerns. My son does have respiratory issues and even if he didnt i just dont feel like its a safe situation right now because things just feel unprepared. To the point that if youre not willing to risk your life and your families life, by going into a building unnecessarily, then youre lazy. Its scary and its like, well, man, how much can i actually protect them from that . Dana do you think that their concerns are warranted . Well, look, i think every cap parents concerns from for their children are warranted, i have two kids but i will tell you that i think the media has done an incredible job with fearmongering over this entire pandemic, specifically when it relates to children and i think most people understand that that tweet that by the way it was announced that it was taken down by Kamala Harris former press secretary so thats an interesting point, the whole point about the president was saying was to point out the fact that while children do get coronavirus, they may not have any symptoms at all and they certainly dont have the same death rate by any stretch of the imagination that adults and elderly populations do so whenever you are looking at actually sending kids back to school, i think we need to look at the facts and if instead of making parents fearful out there, the numbers were actually related to people, there are 75 million kids in the country under the age of 18 and out of that number, dana, around 30 have died from covidrelated causes so will the kids might get coronavirus, they certainly dont die from it. In fact, the standard flu every year kills far more children than the coronavirus ever has so its just interesting that you see the differences between the two and yet people are still very fearful to send their kids to school. Dana well, i think, so heres a statistic. The cdc says out of 7. 4 of all confirmed cases, 7. 4 have been children, 257,000 children. I guess my question, one of the things you are responsible for interpreting this effort into his recruiting votes from suburban women, we have some poll numbers, the most recent fnc poll among suburban women had a disapproval of 67 and i understand the statistics and thank goodness children dont have as many symptoms but its not that they, they are not immune but also if its your child then the statistics kind of go out the window so now you have women and dads, moms and dads but a lot of women trying to figure out, how do i take care of my kids if there are also not going to be in school but also keeping them safe and the stress is really high so how does a Campaign Plan to deal with that concern . I think when youre referencing poll members specific to women, we saw very similar polls in 2016 for President Trump, all the polling show that women would not come out and vote for donald trump for president and yet hes the president today and he got a lot of support from women even with the first woman who they said would be the first female president of the United States and the running and i think you have to always think about the enthusiasm, too, whenever you have a candidate like joe biden, people are very on enthused about joe biden compared with donald trump, i think for us the polling and that sort of thing goes out the window, obviously we all want safety, we all want security, we want to make sure that our kids go back to school in a safe manner and when you talk to a lot of parents out there, on a bus tour in New Hampshire we had a roundtable with moms and they overwhelmingly want their kids to go back to school. We want to know that its safe but whenever you look at the numbers and talk about whats really going on here, you can see that you can i think may get a safe space and maybe its doing differently for younger kids and older kids, im not an expert on the coronavirus, neither are the Silicon Valley elites that try to take down all the tweets and facebook posts but i think the whole point of this is that as a campaign we are reaching out, engaging with women and talking to moms and dads out there and we want to hear from them and what they told us in the campaign is that they want their kids back in school. Dana do you stand by, did you think the president sweet was perfect we find . I think what he was saying in that cliff that everybody is upset about, the point of what he was saying is they dont die at the same rate. I understand that he used the word immune but i think you will understand that his whole point is that kids are highly unaffected by the coronavirus and anybody can see that, that is the whole point of what he was saying and its just a shame that we have people that are willing to leave up talking points from communist china and their misinformation on the coronavirus but theyre going to take dow down the president s tt and the tweet from our campaign but its not surprising. Dana when i hear you on that. I hear you on that. I want to ask you just one other thing, though, so parents in mississippi, this is an incredible thing, they get their kids back in school, now 116 of this kids have to come out and quarantine because one got it and then for more got it and then another one got it and the teacher got it and so i think that the concern i think that im trying to express by these parents is it just feels so uncertain and also you see the fact that you want people to be able to get back to work and does the president have some sort of a plan to be able to help those moms and dads get back to work . So that we can get the economy, rev it up again and how will he Contract Team at contrast that with joe biden who i admit, its hard to pin him down. The great news youve seen with operation warp speed that we have a Coronavirus Vaccine very close, hopefully in october i think theyve said we could see a vaccine and i think if thats the case then hopefully a lot of the fear goes away, hopefully we can fully reopen our country, get kids back to school. This president and his administration and the Coronavirus Task force have done incredible things light years ahead of any vaccine trial weve ever seen in the history of this country and hes doing it and cutting through the red tape and getting it for the American People. So i think one that happens things will turn around and feel a lot more normal because i know we just want to go back to some semblance of normalcy in this country. Dana so much so, i think you could probably get 100 agreement across the country with that statement, indeed. Laura trump, thanks for joining us today, we appreciate it. Thank you. And two cities cracking down on coronavirus violators but is it legal . Record low rates have dropped to new all time lows. With the va streamline refi theres no appraisal, no income verification, and no money out of pocket. One call can save you 3000 a year. Cmon pizzas here. Whoa is that shaq . This is my new pizza the shaqaroni and its bigger than pizza because for every shaqaroni sold, 1 is donated to the Papa Johns Foundation for building community. Sixtytwo thousand seven hundred and ten dollars and thirtyone cents. Sofi allowed me to refinance all of my loans to one low Interest Rate and an affordable monthly payment. And i just feel like theres an end in sight now and that my debt doesnt define me anymore. Sofi is helping me get my money right. Dana with coronavirus cases surging, city leaders on both coasts are trying to crack down on people who break their rules. The new york city officials have set up checkpoints to look for people coming from states on new yorks quarantine list. Alex hogan is outside penn station with the details. Whats going on, alex . Here at penn station, travelers arent getting stopped what they can pick up flyers that give them access to information and resources, one fifth of the new cases in the city com come from outofstate travelers, mayor bill de blasio urging anyone coming to new york city to take this seriously. This is serious and it comes with consequences for our health, our community and for individuals, they dont follow those rules, there can be serious penalties, up to 10,000 per person. Travelers from 35 states or territories must quarantine for 14 days. For weeks, Regional Airports have required passengers to share personal information for Contact Tracing but this is the first time we will see on the streets, checkpoints on bridges and tunnels leading into new york city but the test and trace teams will staff train and bus stations every day. To make sure people do stay home during this quarantine the city is offering to provide help with food deliveries, medical checkups, getting in contact with doctors to help those people stay safely at home. Dana . Dana alex, thank you. Lets head out west where the mayor of los angeles is threatening to cut off power and water to any Place Holding big parties. Chief correspondent Jonathan Hunt has not for us, whats going on out there in california . Dana, with nightclubs and bars shut down in los angeles house parties have become more prevalent, larger and in the eyes of l. A. Officials more of a threat in terms of spreading the coronavirus. The issue came to ahead this week after a large party at a Beverly Hills mansion turned to violence. One woman was killed and several others injured, police being called hours earlier but simply handed out a few parking citations and then left. With an ellie l. A. P. D. Lieutenant admitting officers dont act on l. A. County coronavirus rules forbidding these kind of parties. Its really hard to enforce Something Like that but, especially when its a private party, going into your home and telling you what to do. L. A. Mayor Eric Garcetti says it can be done by turning off utilities. We know we can do this and we dont show up and suddenly shut peoples water and power off at the city provides that to places that are in criminal violation, we have the right to ensure that more lives are not lost. Given that the mayor admits the city wont suddenly shut off power and water, its a question how effective the new policy will be especially as many of these parties are held in properties that have simply been rented for one night. So you might punish the Property Owner but the partygoers will be long gone. Dana . Dana all right, Jonathan Hunt, thank you so much. I wanted to ask, are these moves even legal . Lets bring an attorney andrist altman to help us figure this out. Lets talk about new york and the checkpoints first, totally legal . Yeah, its legal. The mayor has a whole bunch of power when it comes to these sorts of situations. It doesnt make it right, right . Its the nanny state on steroi i can drive my car with my feet but it doesnt make it a good idea. He can do it, its just wrong, its the nanny state on steroids, and its just sick. Dana so youre saying he does have the right to do it, apparently he thinks for a Public Health it is the right thing to do it if you get one of these finds a come up to 10,000 per person, do you have any Legal Recourse . You have virtually no Legal Recourse. Whats interesting is mayors and governors have a tremendous amount of power to implement the sort of procedures that they need to put in so long as its to protect the health and wellbeing of society so you have mayors, bill de blasio and other mayors and governors across this country who think that they are the president , who think they are a dictator and they can do anything they want and unfortunately, legally, they have a really good claim that they can. Dana so if youre one of those places like out there in california possibly having your power shut off or your water shut off, theres really nothing you can do . Theres very little you can do except not have the power but i wonder if cutting off the water with respect to people who are having a party will do anything . Theyre not drinking water, theyre drinking drinking something else. But its mayor garcetti flapping his wings and showing how powerful he is, its silly. Thanks for being on the show, we appreciate it. And she became the face of the obama administrations response to the deadly attack on the United States consulate in benghazi, susan rice now a top candidate for the joe biden Vice President. Who is she . We have the answer, next. The open road is open again. And wherever youre headed, Choice Hotels is there. Book direct at choicehotels. Com. Dana all right, lets take a look at some of the big headlines this hour. Police declaring a riot after protesters took to the streets for the 69th street night, officers responding with tear gas. Over on capitol hill, chad wolf defended the federal agents in that city. Our Law Enforcement officers are not an occupying force. They have been deployed for an extended period of time in one city and that is portland to protect federal property. Our Law Enforcement officers are not stormtroopers. Dana we are getting a look at how much a Coronavirus Vaccine might cost you, companies putting out their estimated numbers. The prices ranging from 4 a dose to nearly 40, the information coming as the u. S. Is approaching 5 million cases, the death toll also topping 150,000. And dramatic new video out of beirut, you can see an bride pog for pictures just moments before a deadly explosion. She is okay but she says she didnt think she would be at the time and you can understand why, that was terrible. I was shocked, i was wondering what happened, am i going to die . How im going to die. Thank goodness she is okay and we are praying for the people of beirut. As far as we know, joe biden has not chosen his running mate and with more than a dozen possibilities here on the daily briefing, we are taking a closer look on each of them. Today we are focusing on former National Security advisor susan rice. Douglas kennedy has more for us. Douglas . Yeah, dana, susan rice has one of the most impressive resumes in politics, unfortunately to some it includes being u. N. Ambassador during benghazi. Susan rice recalling the day islamic extremists killed u. S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others in libya. September 11th, 2012, our diplomatic facilities and benghazi sustained a terrorist attack. You go its an incident that would once again become front and center in american politics. If joe biden picks the former u. N. Ambassador to be his vp nominee. Now having congressional committees reviewing all aspects of benghazi and every one of them concluded that neither i nor anybody in the administration had to deliberately misled the American People. Lise was al lightning rod for the controversy because she appeared on five sunday talk shows and one day, repeating the talking point that the attack was spontaneous rather than planned as intelligence officials later concluded. I was accused of being literally outlier, incompetent, untrustworthy, a bunch of other epithets. A harsh reality giving reiss refined background. She was born in 1954 in washington, d. C. , her mother in education policy scholar who helped design the federal pell grant system, her father and Ivy League Economics professor and the second black governor of the Federal Reserve system. She also attended Stanford University and was a Rhodes Scholar at oxford. Her political experience is just as extensive. She advised of the Michael Dukakis campaign on foreign policy. Before serving on the National Security council and assistant to the secretary of state and the clinton administration. As u. N. Ambassador she pushed for global womens rights. Raise the issue of Climate Change internationally and convinced other World Leaders to impose strong sanctions against north korea and iran. Eventually emerging as obamas National Security advisor. Her vast experience on the world stage gives her a leg up on being able to assume the presidency if needed. Its her Close Association with president obama as well as a strong personal relationship with biden himself that has catapulted her to the top of the vp shortlist. As for benghazi, she says all the criticism only made her more able to lead. I i think im tougher and wiser, you either endure that or you dont. I was prepared to be taken down by something that presently wasnt my fault. Dana not her fault but also not something she would be able to avoid on a campaign trail. Thats it from here, dana, back to you. Dana douglas kennedy, thank you. Lets bring in our panel, former White House Deputy chief of staff and Fox News Contributor karl rove and jerry cohen, the author of accidental president , eight men who changed america and we are going to get him, first ask carl about this political headline, she is absolutely our number one draft pick, republicans want rice as biden vp, trump supporter says the former National Security advisor would supercharge of the president s base. If that were true maybe the republicans shouldnt have suggested that if they really want her. Yeah, well, sometimes you dont get what you want and sometimes you get what you want if you dont say that you wanted so yeah, i think thats good advice. I think she would have a problem because of benghazi, i also think she would put ukraine front and center because shes a National Security advisor at a time when close confidant and political advisor to the secretary of state john kerry is made member of the board in five weeks later he brings on the Vice President s son hunter biden while biden is in charge of ukrainian anticorruption efforts, she would have answer the question, did you know about hunter biden, did that cause you any qualms, did you ever talk to the Vice President about how that might not look very good but at the same time hes pushing the ukrainians to engage in anticorruption efforts. All these questions do not look good and she would have to answer them. Dana i appreciate the color coordination today as well, karl. How important is this vice Vice President ial election pick, how does it fit into the Historical Context . Dana, its great to be here. My view is the most important Vice President ial choice since fdr ran for his fourth term in 1944. The Democratic Party bosses knew he was a dying man, nobody talked about it but everybody knew harry truman was going to be president. Both president s are older than any candidates that have run in history and if you look at the Vice President ial choice its also important because bidens choice in particular represents in many respects the first move, the first nudge in the 2024 election so we are kind of jumping the queue on 2020 and the choice is impossible to view outside of the context of the next election. Dana karl, how do you see that . Looking into the future, is this a push, is this choice by Vice President biden a signal to what he thinks the future of the party should be like . I think absolutely, i think thats a very smart analysis here. Let me plug his book, accidental president s. Eight men who have been chosen for the vice presidency who did not know that they will become president , in this particular instance i think jared is absolutely right, this is the most consequential decision the party has faced in 70 years. The mortality tables arent good at, the likely that biden is going to be a oneterm president are pretty strong and as a consequence people are going to be examining this choice very heavily which is interesting to me because none of these four people have been examined. The one who is gotten the most examination has been Kamala Harris, wasnt a very Good Campaign but the American People are going to sort of wake up one biden makes his choice and realize i dont know much about that person and the examination by the media and the consideration by the American People is going to be far more robust than weve seen in recent decades. Dana we just have a few seconds left, let me ask you, the Media Attention on this will be over quickly or will it last a long time . I think the Media Attention on this is going to sustain and it should sustain, the Vice President is the more central figure in the administration with each successive president that takes office. What that means is the Vice President should matter not because they are goin could be e next president but also because they are going to play a central role in the administration. You and thank you for color coordinating with me today. Thanks for the guidance. Dana a very big deadline this afternoon in the nfl and it could derail the season. We will tell you about it. They get that no two people are alike and customize your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. Almost done. What do you think . I dont see it. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Most of the cases are related to the ptsd from the riots and its not the only city where cops are reaching the breaking point. Mike tobins live in chicago with this. Like . The Minneapolis Charter Commission took a vote last night they kept disbanding the police of the ballot in november. That effectively block the efforts of the city council. However, cops are leaving that for us anyway. More than 200 of the 860 officers on the floors have started the process of applying for disability. Most of the cases are due to posttraumatic stress. A lot of the cops are working through their ptsd symptoms over the past years but the george ge floyd riots have pushed some of them pass the breaking point. Frankly, its the total abandonment by the community of their officers, by the administration, by the city council, by the mayor and by their own police chief and it all kind of comes together as a perfect storm to the point where they say i cant do this anymo anymore. And a sampling of the public shows that people, black americans included do not want to get rid of the police. A poll conducted by the Gallup Center for black voices said 61 of the people surveyed want Police Presence to stay the same as it is. Fewer than one in five black people polled felt they had an encounter with police that they would be treated with courtesy and respect. Dana . Dana mike tobin, important story, thank you. Nfl players have a little more than an hour from now to decide if they want to opt out of the 2020 football season. And what they decide to do could mean big problems for your fall. Joining now is jim great, fox newgray, fox news contributo. Tell us about the back story. Well, theres a health issue and they have families, some live with their grandparents, some have wives and girlfriends that are pregnant. Its a decision that they have to take very seriously, some of underlying conditions and its not conducive for them to be around a group of guys playing tackle football, theres a myriad of things that have to happen for these guys to want to opt out plus they just may not want to go through the mental drain that our football season can cause. Dana is a list of some players opting out of the season, do you think i will be of sufficient numbers to make a decision within the next hour that we possibly might have a football season this fall . I dont think this is going to be problem. Some of the teams, the new England Patriots have eight guys right now who have opted out and some of them starting players, who are not going to play this year for the patriots. They are going to have a problem plus tom brady, some of already left so they will have a problem but football is not in peril at all. The nfl will be played. Dana, remember one thing. In 1997 there were replacement players on the field during the strike and they had replacement scabs come into fill the union gap. They also had replacement referees in 2012, the National Football league unless there is massive outbreak on these teams, theyre going to play to play. Dana thats good to hear. I have one question, how are my broncos going to do this year . Well, they are going to be better, they found a quarterback that they like, they are in a tough division. When you have to play patrick my homes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs who lost very few guys, theyve got some problems. The raiders and the chargers, both of those teams are pretty good. Theyve got an uphill climb but theyre going to be better. Im from denver, too, i grew up in denver. We talked about that before. Dana my sister will be like to see them do well but i think they are a few years away. Dana i think my sister will take better is a good answer. Jim gray, thank you so much. Go to be with you, dana. Dana next, we will head to the ranch for a little horsing around. Dana how would you like to skip the lines completely the next time you head to airport . That may not be too far off. Bret larson explains. What is going on . Dana, how great would it be to just go to the airport and just breeze through the terminal on to the airplane without stopping . In the age of covid19 that would be fantastic. There is technology to make that happen. We are familiar with the mobile boarding pass that lets you do that. Airports are trying to stream line passenger more with facial recognition and making sure the security lines stay short. Robots around the airport to make sure there are know clusters of people sticking together and making sure people are more spread out. Dubais airport is crowded. They are testing out a smart tunnel that uses a series of cameras and artificial intelligent to scan your eyes when you walk through the hallway. It prescreens you to get on the airplane. Delta airlines 2 years ago in their atlanta hub rolled out the facial recognition for getting on international flights. Dallas fort worth is working on Similar Technology and lax is trying to add into this contactless technology. We could get to a point where your face is your passport. When you get up to the gate to get on the airplane, instead of a person there taking your ticket, there will be a camera that takes a quick picture of your face and identifies for you and it will check your security and you will go on to the airplane that has been sanitized. Dana thats super interesting. And the pandemic forced people to rethink their summer plans. Now some folks are taking a trip to a simpler time. Grady has the best assignment of the day. Tell me about it. [laughing]. I lucked out today, dana. This is an easy place for social distancing. Cedar creek branch and i am with Paul Williams. The rock n roll cowboy. Had you to shut down midmarch and what happened when you reopened . We shutdown because of the coronavirus pandemic, but we did things like social distancing to get our operation back up. Its great to have people come out and enjoy the great outdoors. This is a business that is a pandemic winner. You have been busier than ever since reopening . Yes, people want to be out in the open space and soak up the vitamind in the great outdoors. What better way than on a horse .
