Talking a gathering or of the governors this morning that the Health Care Law has failed and must be replaced. And while he says that the smart thing may be for republicans to let democrats take the fall instead of being blamed for any fix, the president says that this would not be the right thing to do. Essay to the republicans, if you really want to do politically something good, dont do anything. States back for a period of two years, because 17 is going to be a disaster for obamacare if we do not do something. Let it be a disaster. Because we can blame that on the democrats that are in our room. And we can blame it on the democrats and president obama. Let it implode. That is not the fair thing to do for the people. Not the fair thing. Some republican lawmakers are shooting down remarks last week by former House Speaker john boehner who said that the republicans will not be able to replace obamacare. Here is senator tom. John boehner in his speech said that they are not going to repeal obamacare. They are going to repair it. Is that how this will end up looking to a vast majority of people . It is basically a repair of obamacare . We have had four elections about obamacare. And in three of those elections, republicans will make big victories, because we promised to repeal obamacare and fix the Health Care System once and for all. That is what we are going to do. And the tough talk. A former Campaign Advisor is warning that Speaker Paul Ryan has to go. If he cannot deliver on replacing obamacare. Paul ryan is not doing his job. If he cannot do is his job as a speaker to hold the republicans together and get a repeal and replace bill through, then somebody else should be speaker. Brian has attached things to his version of the replacement buildout are very unpopular. He has to get on board with donald trump, because Donald Trumps program is popular. All right, no mincing words they are coming and the judge does not hold back. No, here is a problem that i see. And kennedy and i have spoken on this at her show. One of the things that obama succeeded in doing with obamacare, creating the false message that somehow health care is a right that the government has to provide for. Thats was never the law of the land before obamacare. And it is unconstitutional today to suggest that you have a claim against the government for your health care. That is what betsy mccoy was complaining about, because paul ryan shares the view that it is not a right, it is a good. We can provide it for you or not provided for you. The president for all of his wonderful attacks on obamacare when he was candidate trump now seems to feel that the federal government has the obligation, the legal, moral, or constitutional obligation to make sure that everybody is covered. And that is not the job of the federal government. That is without a drop of a free market. That was what it was until obamacare came along. You can make the argument that part of the difference, the fact that now he has a politician. He is the president of the United States. Kind of a head of all of the politicians. The optics of having people not covered because you want to change a program are really dicey. Totally. I argue that president obama did not create the idea that health care is a right, it is that people that coked up medicare. That is a singlepayer it is going broke in a few years. Donald trump does not want to fix it. It is problem number one. But it is an entitlement to not like medicare. A little bit more free markets. What the problem is politically in the repeal and the replace that in the senate they only have 52 republican senators. And you can only use reconciliation where you need a majority vote for things related to the budget and taxes. They are going to need for a full replacement, they are going to need democrats purple repeal, they are going to need some democrats. If they repeal some of it and it collapses in on itself. There republicans on the collapse. Not the democrats. Then they can stand back and do this, we are not going to replace it with anything come across her arms and let the republicans take the blame for that. So what we were trying to do at those governors meeting, 46 of them, we took the president live as he was meeting them. He would greet eight democrats. That is allowed to in this configuration. So what is the likelihood that they will go through and not have to own a collapse . This is the cornerstonecampay President Trump, if he does not repeal and replace, i believe the promise was within the hour, they are going to be a lot of disappointed within the country. That being said, the town halls that we have been talking about last week on the show, only more and more raucous, more and more intense, more more people complaining about not knowing what is going to happen if this is repealed. I do not understand the attacks on paul ryan right now. President trump is going to need him and other kind of republicans to spread the message around the country that you are safe. There is going to be a comprehensive replacement where no one is going to lose her health care. And its going to be a scary apocalyptic times, so it is really, really illadvised politics to be sending your surrogates out on the radio attacking speaker ryan. Before i go to you, kennedy. I want to bring in some new information. A scott walker and kentucky, just moments ago talking about that meeting with the president. Lets watch. This thing is a mass, and we know from the questions that we heard today that if we do nothing, and as was noted politically for republicans, maybe it would be great if we did nothing. Because over the next two years, people would lose coverage because obamacare is falling apart. It has been a failure. It is not just in average, not a broad stripe, it has been individually statebystate a failure. And kentucky has long been volunteered as an example of the opposites, i am telling you as a matter of fact, it is an unmitigated disaster. Well, it could be disastrous for a lot of states including california, very powerful. And we have an insurance commissioner. So what the republicans are introducing his Health Insurance accounts, and a plan that you can buy across state lines, it makes a very, very complex. And i think complex applying the system is much, much worse. Also these governors need to figure out what they are going to do with medicaid. That is a critical cornerstone. And they talked about this weekend quite a bit. They have their own plan. Yes, they have to. One of the plans which i think rand paul has talked about, and a very good idea is a block granting medicare to the states. Putting the states in control of that money. It saves the federal government a lot of money, but there are parts of these laws, and i hope they dont fix it. I hope they completely scrap its part that the judge is absolutely right. Up to meghans point, it is becoming so politically unpopular that the more time goes on, the more that are in the town hall who are clearly scared, frustrated, and not just this is the first year of 2017 where the mandate kicks in, if you do not have Health Insurance, the irs will tax you pay he has told them not to collect the tax. Because they can limit who is going to be in the pool, so i do not think what sean spicer did as a big deal, but it would be a big deal if the press no longer can challenge the president. There are so much tension, so much polarization that it saves actually nice to meet people with whom you spar with on a daytoday basis. It is very hard to do when you have career bureaucrats who have access to information that have a completely different agenda. It was a twofold problem, you have a lot of broke rats in washington, d. C. , but you also have a president who does not inspire the loyalty that president s from both parties have in the past. And because of that you tend to have more people who are selfserving who benefits from leaking information and trading in that political currency. And now the more rumors there are about sean spicer cracking down, the more valuable that information becomes when he has people deliver their phone so that we can go through and see if they have confided, snapshots, other coded messaging apps that allow them to talk to the press and have messages disappeared. Sean spicer said that he took it off of his phone, he is imploring his staff to do the same thing. Turning your phone, we will check them out, but in the meantime we need to stop with the encrypted apps. I will say this about the whole process. We are a nation of narcissus. Really youre going to step up and out to things coming out of the white house . You are not going to Pay Attention to National Security just so you can have your name in lights good with some reporter who would print that material knowing that it is insidious in its nature . Last tuesday all this happen and somebody in the room leaked it. So obviously the message did not work. Answer the phones are his own staff, it is not a member of the press or bureaucrats that were being blasted. I agree with you. You get charged, you get taken down. And said that is what happened with Michael Flynn is an abomination. It is disgusting disgusting. If you leaked secrets, that is a felony. You should be prosecuted. If you leaked up conversation that you heard in the white house, that is a pain in the neck to the president , and they might get you fired. But it is that the coin of the realm between the white house and reporters. Reporters get to leaks. Thats what happens. But it is all in that first paragraph that you talked about. The first segment about what is legally vulnerable in the situation. We will not even talk about what was happening. What is vulnerable in the situation is when material from the Intelligence Community is selectively concealed and selectively revealed. Embarrassing, humiliating, or controlling the president. Separate him from Michael Flynn. That is a problem with the Intelligence Community right now, you are absolutely right really quickly, you know how you weed out the leakers, you start embarrassing them and firing them by name on twitter, President Trump. Revisions that he hopes can hold up in court. A Senior Administration official says that it will exempt green cardholders an end visa holders and drop syrian refugees. It said that it still will not stop terror, watch. I do not think that the travel ban is going to help in any significant way. What they need to do is to take into account all of the means that terrorist groups used to attack in the homeland. And the cyber domain is the area where most of the terrorist groups are operating. Give us a rational basis for choosing the seven countries. What does the leak give, it undermines the president s argument. His own administration is saying that the countries are no more dangerous than any others. So this is going to be an obstacle that has to come over he has to overcome. That is why the order did not come out last week. It is being rewritten and will come out wednesday. They have to accommodate the legal issues generated by the leak of the report page dude see the harm thats leaking can cause . During our hour on friday, we also reported because it was breaking news at the time that the Justice Department on behalf of the white house was asking for a halt that were fostering them to the ninth Circuit Court. What will come out on wednesday will be a ripping up of the old and starting a new pair to that. All of those litigations. It may generate a whole new batch of litigations, but they will not be the same as the ones that are there now. The executive order will not be the same. So i hear what youre saying. I hear the president s argument for wanting to include the seven coming of ticktock down there. But stephen miller, an advisor to the white house said that it was because it was on president obamas list as well. That is one of the justifications, president obama and president bush, various laws that were passed by congress and executive orders that were signed by both president s come i think it is really interesting. The president is finding out from the administration, and it is a very young administration. Thats what people do not forge forget. There are always stumbles and missteps with every president ial administration. So there is much more flexibility and the administration orders. And you have to think about which hill you are going to die on. And he does not necessarily want it to wind its way through the courts over the coming months and years. Its really worth it when he can essentially just scratch it into that you are doing something that really keeps the American People safe instead of something that is symbolic. Also pointing out that the president kind of went out on his own with this one. So now in terms of putting it out there, he has had to lean on others for the new executive order. It is working with the people and his team, so on and so forth. Leaning on the actual attorney general of the United States who was not confirmed when the original order came out, which was a huge problem. I think that if you look at the order, one of the most critical things on it is the fact that the number of refugees coming into the country will be cut by more than half from president obamas number. 50,000, and already 35,000 refugees who come into this country in the current fiscal year, 15,000 more, that ultimately is something that President Trump should be able to get through and do on his own. Because the statute directly gives him the authority alone without needing congress to make those decisions. He can cut those numbers down. Im just interested to see what happens wednesday. He will lay out his agenda to the American Public and to lawmakers with some republicans having concern. At the third thing that i think he is going to talk about is border security. Taking care of our National Security. He has talked about this coming and i need to increase spending on the military. I have to admit that i was not the biggest fan, that is putting it nicely. I did not like Corey Lewandowski during the campaign, but he is actually very good on the sunday shows picking maps out pretty well what to President Trump should do. He does. He knows the president very well. So does anybody think that the president is going to broaden his base or fire up the base . Heres what i would do if i was the president. And i got this idea from our very talented colleague bill hemmer, and i would invite nancy pelosi, paul ryan, he will already be up there, mitch mcconnell, Chuck Schumer up to the podium. And we would hug each other and promised to do all of this work together. Not for republicans, not for democrats, but for the 230 million americans. I love him, he is such a sweetie. Hug it out. That is a nice pipe dream, but no. Your body language would send a message that she could use with all of her liberal supporters. Some of the problems that trump has had are directly attributable to the fact that Chuck Schumer has slowed down the confirmation process in the senate of the cabinet members. Why when their victory is inevitable should they be fighting tooth and nail . Rather than saying, okay, president , heres three things that i want, give me two of them. It then Chuck Schumer is getting nothing for he is being childish and shortsighted, and everything he does this, it exacerbates the problem, makes people hate the federal government more. In that sense, he is doing himself and his party a great disservice. If they can nominate and elect whoever they want to be head of the Democratic Party, but they still have these lack of ideas. I do not think that nancy pelosi would get up on stage unless you are again, the speaker of the house. She does not want to be up there unless she has full control and lasers implanted in her eyes and take over republican congressman. I do think that you will see some heckling from the democrats. I do think that the president is going to have some raucous applause lines. You are going to see half of the chamber stand up and applaud him for various things. But i think it is a great opportunity for him to instead of using the adjectives to describe how great and smart these plans will be, he can use a little bit of maturity and describe the policy. He can make people feel a little bit better so they stop attacking various members of congress at town halls. Talking about growing the economy, what they are doing. Talk about growing judge to limit jobs, what they are doing. And to give people a timetable of when they are going to get these things done. Particularly with tax cuts, tax reform. Give them hardcore facts and figures, and then put the burden on the democrats. They want to say that the democrats want to keep your hard earned money, because they think they make better decisions. Are the 69 democrats in the house that refused to show up at his inauguration going to show up tomorrow night . Do they finally recognize that he has the lawful president . We have not heard any reporting that they would not be there. By your talk about protocol and the ability to heckle in that hall, do they want to smudge themselves . Joe wilson, the republican congressman of south carolina, he was disciplined when he did that. They can do nonverbals pretty yes, they can remain silent, but they cannot heckle. I certainly hope not. But the despite tom perez message of united news, they are afraid that they have not learned their lesson after Hillary Clintons loss. He also said that we need to be looking at whether the election was rigged by the russians, and vladimir putin. It is good for the republicans if they capable riding the hobbyhorse to know where i may be the skunk of the garden party, but i think that the country needs a strong United Democratic party. I do not like one party rule. The opposition keeps the party in power in check. Im not a democrats. I do not think that tom perez is like i to do it. I do not think that they should have kicked out Bernie Sanders people. What Hillary Clintons people did to Bernie Sanders is prehensile bill. They will not be unified. E under tim ryan, the blue collar lawyer lawyer from ohio, she beat him 31. He would be the type of guy that will broaden the base of the Democratic Party. I do know that some big money is starting to look at congressman and they are looking at him very carefully. They know that he has a new guard. So, the Democratic Party of scoop jackson, humphrey, even lbj, it is fair. Look at what happened was senator sanders followed lee mack followers. End of the big question, Corey Lewandowski, the former Campaign Administrator was asked this question over the weekend. Did democrats missed their opportunity to prove that they got the message, and the need to unite both sides of their party by picking a guy who is probably incapable of doing that. And President Trump tweeted about it. It did you miss your opportunity to put up somebody who would have coalesced the burning side . Again, he gets shut down was the text of that tweet. What i say and the wall street journal touches on this, i think that the democratic strategy, they think that they are going to stand back and let the repeal and replace of obamacare fail potentially. They are going to stand back if the republicans cannot get through tax reform, cannot do things for the economy. They are just going to stand back. But the country gets hurt in the process. They do not care about that we are one nation no matter what that is why it is politically dangerous for democrats. If they do that and are not fighting for their constituents, a lot of pain who cannot afford the spiked premiums, all they are doing is letting obama swirl into a death spiral, that is awful for them. They are already politically in a lot of danger in the senate races. And they know that. It is interesting because looking at who just won, maybe it is president obama, may be former president obama is the one who was like, well, i have my guy, Keith Ellison, he comes with way too much baggage. Into the establishment despises Bernie Sanders and all that stands for pay to look at what Chuck Schumer is doing in the senate, resist, resist, resist, rather than trying to work with the republicans and the president. I guess selfishly i am always more curious about where millennials are coming in both sides of the party. And a huge, huge Bernie Sanders for sling exporter. And i think Bernie Sanders reporters come i think thats Keith Ellison is a radical command as far out of the realm of mainstream politics. It is interesting to think about the youth coming up in the Democratic Party. Things continue to be betrayed and betrayed over and over again. Because perez is the establishment. It is just interesting that they are going to keep repeating this over and over again. Hillary clinton coming out to make statements, and every piece possible about Chelsea Clinton gaining her voice. So they are not going to learn any lessons. It is fascinating. The democrats do not believe that harebrained policy and elitist ideology is the reason that they lost in november paid they should definitely run chelsea in an award. Making a face.
