<p>Teens are typically sleepy &ndash; and the sleepiest of them all may be the most popular ones. A team of researchers has examined how popularity in school affects teenagers&rsquo; sleeping habits. They found that popular teenagers sleep up to 27 minutes less than their less popular peers &ndash; and that popular girls, but not boys, experience more insomnia symptoms. They also concluded their results were similar to a study conducted when smartphones were not yet common, which suggests that popular teenagers are unlikely to sleep less because of them.</p>
