Did you know that more than 4 million people are bitten by dogs nationally each year?
A majority of them do not require medical attention, however. According to the CDC, approximately 800,000 need to see a doctor — with more than half of those cases involving children.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a 300% increase in dog bites.
Typically, a dog will not bite without reason. Triggers include stress, being scared or feeling like they are in danger. Understanding a dog’s body language is a key way to help avoid being bitten.
