RPD grateful for donation covering K-9's surgery cost
RICHMOND, Ind. — Richmond Police Department K-9 Uzi recently was injured and required surgery.
The surgery's cost was ultimately covered by a $4,213.84 donation from the National Police Dog Foundation, a nonprofit that provides donations for active and retired police dogs round the country.
In a news release, RPD expressed its thanks for the foundation's donation. RPD applied for the medical assistance.
Uzi was injured in an off-duty incident and required surgery to his left rear leg. Uzi is a 4-year-old Belgian malinois that joined RPD in May 2019. His handler is Officer Jourdan Brouse.
