Jeremy Matte didn’t keep every puck out of the net, but he still got a shutout.
Matte stopped 26 shots Saturday as the Cariboo Cougars downed the South Island Royals in a B.C. Major Midget League game at the CN Centre, but one puck did get by him.
With the Cougars up 2-0 early in the third period, South Island got the puck into the Cariboo goal, but the officials rules it had been intentionally directed in by a Royals player with his body, and the goal was disallowed.
