Pennsylvania's vaccine provider map not always accurate

Some COVID-19 vaccine providers in Luzerne County had numerous appointment slots available Wednesday, but you wouldn’t know it by checking the state’s online provider map or most-recent vaccine distribution file.
Checking the state Department of Health’s vaccine provider map against some local providers’ appointment websites showed that the department’s map doesn’t always list providers that have appointments available, which could make it more difficult for people to schedule vaccinations quickly.
For example, Wilkes-Barre General Hospital had open appointment slots on its website for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and well into next week, and Albert’s Pharmacy in Pittston listed open appointment slots on its website for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.
