With the passing on February 1, 2021 of Norman E. Record, at age 93, a part of Middleborough’s history passed with him. Record was a Korean War veteran and a well known member of the Police Department.
Members of his family contacted former Veterans Service officer Paul Provencher and sought his assistance in possibly getting a sign designating the Four Corners area as “Patrolman Norman E. Record Corners.”
Provencher in turn contacted Middleborough’s Board of Selectmen for approval of the family request. The Board in turn submitted the idea for a Town Meeting vote.
Middleborough’s Board of Selectmen have submitted a warrant article for the Monday. April 26, 2021 at 7:15 p.m. annual Town Meeting at the auditorium of the Nichols Middle School asking voters’ opinion of the article.
