TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field program will be competing at the South Florida Invitational in Tampa, Fla., this Friday. The meet is split over two days with the men competing on Friday and the women competing on Saturday, but the Noles will just be sending a select group of men to compete on Friday. The men's sprinters, Jacore Irving, Jeremiah Davis and Nick Napier will all be competing on Friday. The Noles added this meet to the schedule on Tuesday after weather altered their plans last weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays. The Noles competed on Friday but only three athletes were able to compete on Saturday before a six hour rain delay. The Noles did not compete following the delay. The biggest group heading down to Tampa will be the men's sprints group. Amir Willis has led that group so far this season with three great performances to start the outdoor season. Willis leads the team in both the 100m dash (10.21) and the 200m dash (20.77). Willis is No. 2 in the conference in the 100m dash and is third in the ACC in 200m dash. He will be competing in the 200m dash and the 4x100m relay this Friday. Irving and Davis will lead the Noles in the field events on Friday. Irving will compete in the triple jump after not competing last weekend due to weather. Irving posted a mark of 15.60m his last time out at the FSU Relays. Davis will be competing in the long jump for the third time this outdoor season. Davis finished fifth last weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays with a mark of 7.55m The Noles will also be competing in the 4x100m relay. Taylor Banks, Jo'Vaughn Martin, Don'dre Swint and Willis will make up the team with Martin making his outdoor season debut.
