Marin scientist shaking up Stanford's stem cell research scene

Marin County's Malachia “Melli” Hoover, 33, a Black woman, is poised to earn her Ph.D. in stem cell research from Stanford University, School of Medicine. Last month, Hoover successfully passed her oral exams by defending her dissertation on stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
