Labour suspends planned strike, protest in Kano, agree on terms

Following an earlier announced three days strike scheduled to commence on Thursday 8th April 2021, by workers in Kano, protesting the reversion to the former minimum wage of N18,000.00 from the new minimum wage of N30,600.00, the Kano council of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has announced the suspension of the industrial action after reaching some agreements with the government.
The organised Labour also announced the suspension of a planned peaceful protest scheduled for Monday 12th April 2021.
This was announced in a statement issued to newsmen and signed by the National Deputy President, NLC, Najeem Yasin after a meeting with the state government that ended late in the night on Wednesday.
