A teenager dead and 12 year old is hospitalized after a shooting in north philadelphia Eyewitness News reporter anita oh, live at Temple University hospital this morning where the 12 year old is recovering. Anita, do police have any leads . Reporter good morning, jan , police say that witnesses told them this gunman appeared to be about fivesix and wore all dark clothing but investigators may get a better idea after speaking with this 12 year old who is expected to recover after being shot in the leg overnight. Now, as you can see, in this video, investigators say, just after midnight, a gunman fired into a crowd of teens, this happened on the 2700 block of north 19th street. By West Somerset street, thats right off west lehigh avenue. Bullets hit the 16 year old twice in the chest, once in the head, mid ex pronounced him dead, while the 12 year old got hit once in the leg. Right now the scene consists of eight shell casings, four projectiles, we have also four strike marks on the actual property itself, one in the door, and three in the wall. And investigators are searching for cameras in the area. Theyre also speaking to witnesses. Again, that 12 year old is expected to be okay. Hes in stable condition here at Temple University hospital. This shooting happened around 1 00 a. M. On the 400 block every west wyoming avenue. That is in the city feltonville section, one person hospitalized this morning in critical condition. The other was hit in the leg and is in stable condition this morning. No arrests have been made just yet. No word on what may have led up to this shooting. Family, friends, remembering teenager shot and killed in south philadelphia last month. The viewing and funeral for ka leer miller took place in philadelphia, he was just 16 years old. Police say 16 year old brandon al very i shot miller and 16 year old sal denubile during a argument all happened near 12th and ritner october 12. Oliveri is being held without bail. Man accused of killing his brother inside a home in elkins park. Police caught up with the suspect at upper moreland motel. Police say his brother 60 year old jamison of philadelphia is being charged with murder. They say jamison bok man beat his older brother to death and stole his car. He was found in the basement with signs of blunt force tram a to his head and body. His body located when his brothers stolen ford he is kate at fairfield inn and mo tell in upper moreland township. But in the meantime, while we do have persistent east winds, we do have coastal flood advisories with the on shore flow for some of our new jersey coastal areas, and then also down into the delaware beaches, this is until noon today. Throughout the day, though, we will see the numbers climbing, 62 by the noon hour, and then 65 by 3 00 p. M. Clouds are really going to dominate the forecast throughout the day today. We will have the risk for maybe a little bit of drizzle, possibly even a passing shower , it is not going to be an ideal weather day by any means. But it is definitely looking a little better specially now that the main batch of light rain has moved on off the coast, the clouds remain, though, we will be dealing with some showers out there. There there is no way i would have made it out without the help of stranglers 18 year old was enjoying the festival with friends until a bullet shattered her lower leg, stranger made a torn kit and carried her to safety. What is lifelike now . Im just taking it daybyday. And this obviously so beyond thankful that im still here, and my injuries, something that i can recover from. We have female witnesses transported to homicide and were looking for cameras in the area, right now we have our detective on homicide, our crime scene unit and other detective on location, trying to find the shooter. As Eyewitness News reporter alicia newest explains, the officer plans to return to the force after recovering. After being shot in the line every duty, Camden CountyPolice Officer, Patrick Ohanlon, is leaving the hospital and headed home. Giving a thumbsup on his way out to signal hes going to be okay. Sore, little swollen, but good spirits, and want to go home and get in his own bed, and, you know, relax, get well officer ohanlons father, grateful to be taking his son home, grateful the incident wednesday night didnt ends in a different way. Were extremely fortunate the way that this situation unfolded, that the gun jammed, and the suspect is not able to finish him off like he tried to do. Camden police chief, scott thompson, says officer on hanlon was shot in the leg near ninth and chelton avenue in camden, after stopping a suspicious van. Even though he was shot, the young officer only one year on the force was able to still apprehends his suspect without another officer or another person, getting hurt. The training he got, he just reacted, and from what i could tell he reacted in a good way. You know the fact of the matter is that the situation was able to be resolved without anyone losing their life. Even the person that was trying to take ours. Officer ohanlon is expected to make a full covary there is no time frame of when , but his family says, he will return back to being a Police Officer, in camden. The former security chief at the delaware prison where a deadly uprising took place earlier this year is now no longer with the department of correction. This was the scene at the James T VaughnCorrectional Center smyrna february 1st. A spokesperson for the Department Says jeffrey left the prison system back on october 20, and now there is no word on whether he left voluntarily or was forced out. Correctional officer steven floyd was killed in that riot which led to the indictment of 18 inmates. The jury will begin deliberations in the corruption trial of senator bob menendez, once closing arguments and tomorrow. It is causing people to be more likely to act on those aggressive impulse. Pen researchers rebecca found 3 increase in the number of assaults, that happen on the monday after Daylight Saving time ends in the fall. We get the extra hour of sleep, which everybody appreciates, but also did see that it was sneering the increase in assaults. The opposite true in the spring, when Daylight Saving time begins, and we lose an hour of sleep. Assaults go down. People are less productive, too tired to act out. This was raw data from Police Departments. Yes. Sleep is linked to everything from mood, product you can i have tiff at this, to weight and brain power, so you would think an extra hour of sleep would be more beneficial. I was a little surprised just because you have little bit more energy it, might make you more aggressive. Then this, different study found your risk of a heart attack drops 21 on the monday after we fall back, with the ends of Daylight Saving time, and on the monday when we spring forward, in march, the heart attack risk goes up to 25 .
