But with that said, we will still be 5 to 15 degrees above average for today. Heres a look over the Golden Gate Bridge where that is definite. Change along the coastline and inside the bay. Were seeing some fog out there this morning. A very weak onshore breeze and temperatures at this hour. Way cooler for most compared to yesterday, 49 in santa rosa, upper 50s in concord, upper 50s right now. San jose. Take a look at that 24 hour temperature change. Petaluma has been leading the pack most of the morning down by 20 degrees compared to yesterday in oakland. You are down by nine. Half moon bay down by 13. So with that said, we do expect a bigger changes along the coast just inside the bay and temperatures will still be well above average. 85 of rosa today, 73 in San Francisco and 90 expected in livermore. A better look at the afternoon highs for today and the cooling trend that will continue into the days ahead. Coming up in just a bit at 701. Lets see how the highways are doing this morning with sal. All right. First thing i have to mention is theres no bart service right now between richmond and macarthur station because of an issue on the tracks. And james is at one of the bart stations. Were going to let him explain, but it doesnt seem to be adding more traffic to the freeway system because it is friday and were getting a little bit of a lighter commute. You can see the bay bridge. Its backed up to about the middle of the parking lot. There so it is not a terrible commute there. Bay area bridges look pretty good. No major issues there. And if youre driving on the peninsula, theres some slowing on 101, a little slowing on 85. But i like where this commute is going now at 702. Lets get right back to the headlines. Thank you so much. We begin our 7 00 hour with developing news. As sal mentioned, there are big problems for many bart riders in the east bay at this hour. Ktvu james torres is live with details this morning. James andre. Good morning. Well, right now were coming to you live from the macarthur station along the bart line. Thats because bart Officials Say if you make it here and your destination is somewhere toward San Francisco and oakland, then youve got a green light. Youre good to go from here. Its if youre at this spot and headed back up toward berkeley and richmond, thats where youre going to have a problem, because trains are not running through that area right now. Its probably easier to show you best on a map. This is one of barts maps. Of course. Weve seen this map plenty of times before, as you know it very well. If you ride bart, really often, were at the macarthur station here. There are some problem going on on the tracks between macarthur and ashby. We actually see crews here on the other side of this map, that are handling some of those pieces of equipment. Not sure if thats what theyre working on this morning, if thats what theyre trying to repair. But again, if youre headed back up toward places like berkeley, el cerrito or richmond, you cant do that here from macarthur. And certainly you cant go from those areas down here. Once you get here, you can take the red, orange and yellow line down to San Francisco and oakland. That wont be a problem. We spoke with bart just about 30 minutes ago. They told us that there was some equipment issue along that line here. Closer to this station. Something about some fiber that wasnt working right this morning when they were powering on their trains for service for the day, they said they couldnt have some Clear Communication with the trains. And thats whats causing them to have this issue, this morning. Now, typically when they have stations that shut down, they do offer some sort of bus bridge that can connect you from one stop to another. Thats not happening this morning, likely because there are about five different stops that are inactive. Today we stopped by one of those other places. We went to the ashby station just about 30 minutes ago, and there the gates are down. Printed out pieces of paper are posted there letting you know the station is closed and the station agents are also Walking Around letting people who are walking up know that the station is closed and trains are not running through, and also navigating you to where you can access a bus, local city transportation, Public Transportation to get to this, stop. Macarthur because that will be the first stop that actually has a train running through it. Once youre getting down the yellow and orange lines, of course, its a story thats going to be continuing all throughout the morning. We will keep you updated and posted with it. Bart says theyre not sure about how much longer those stops will be out of the Train Service here. Well let you know once that changes. Were live this morning in oakland. Im james torres, ktvu, fox two news. Thank you james new this morning fremont firefighters say theyll remain at the scene of a fire at a commercial building to make sure there are no flare ups. Fire was reported around 2 00 in the morning today on millmont drive east of 880 firefighters from fremont and milpitas responded, knocked the fire down in about 90 minutes. Emergency responders say the drones are now playing a major role in efforts to crack down on crime. It truly has been a such a useful tool for deescalation, for apprehension of violent suspects, for Public Safety. Firefighters also say the drones have provided a huge boost to Public Safety. One drone recently took to the skies just moments after a home went up in flames. One of our other battalion chiefs was the person operating the drone that was able to give me real life time intel. The drones actually looking for hazards, possible hazards that could affect either Public Safety in general or responding personnel. Fremont police and firefighters say the drones are only used for critical or life threatening situations, and First Responders stress they are not allowed to be used for random surveillance happening today. Governor gavin newsom will release an updated budget for the next fiscal year. State leaders are not expecting great news and say a 38 billion budget deficit announced earlier this year has likely grown. Well turn to ctvs allie rasmus live now with a closer look at the numbers and what could happen. Allie, due to that growing deficit . Well, garcia, california is not alone in this. There are many states facing tighter budgets. Economic growth has slowed nationwide. Theres less payroll tax revenue coming in with layoffs and job cuts happening and sales tax revenue is down because of consumers cuts in spending. Now that californians have filed their tax returns, state officials have a better idea of how much money is coming in, and they are not painting a rosy picture, at least not preliminarily. Last month, the states legislative Budget Office estimated that californias budget deficit has likely grown. Estimate is about 70 billion, up from 38 billion in january. And that means the budget and the governor lawmakers that the governor and lawmakers plan for needs to be revised. Governor gavin newsom is expected to release his revised budget later this morning. If the deficit has grown as expected, it means there will likely be cuts to state spending and programs. Its something Governor Newsom hinted at when asked about the budget at a chamber of commerce event earlier this week. We still have a shortfall. We will manage it and well manage it. Yes, without general tax increases, were not just going to try to solve for this year. I want to solve for next year. I think its too important. We have got to be more disciplined. The california constitution requires the state to balance its budget every year. Another possible option, the to balance the budget that some state lawmakers are already talking about taking out bonds to borrow money or pay for programs without steep cuts. Even so, social service agencies, nonprofit organizations and californias Public Schools are bracing for spending cuts. The governor is expected to announce his revised budget plan with the details on what those cuts might look like later this morning. Back to you, garcia. Ali. Lets talk about the bay bridge. This could have put a few more cars on the road. Maybe it is backed up to the middle of the parking lot. Metering lights are on. Were also looking at the rest of the bay area commute. It definitely does appear to be a little lighter than usual, with some slowdowns on highway four and on the Altamont Pass at 712. The traffic on the freeways a little busier, although its friday, so were getting a little bit of a break. If you are at the bay bridge toll plaza, there is a backup here that stretches for about ten minutes. So thats about the max there before you make it onto the bridge. San mateo bridge has been okay, and so has the dumbarton bridge. We havent seen a lot in the south bay yet. This morning at 720. Lets talk about todays weather. Heres rosemary. All right sal good morning to you. Happy friday. We are looking at a transition to cooler weather in time for the weekend. Today along the coast inside the bay already beginning to fill it giving you a live look here over San Francisco where you can see a little bit of fog out there. We had the clouds banked up against the coastline rolling into the bay this morning, but kind of chewed up by all that dry air thats out there. And we still have a little bit of a north and easterly flow. You can see its fairly weak, but its there coming from that direction. So getting into the afternoon, calling for a weak onshore breeze, fog trying to develop. But it will be a little tough today in any case we are going to see a cool down. Were already seeing it out there this morning along the coast. You see some fog by tomorrow morning. Entering the bay, well call for mostly clear skies into your saturday afternoon, but temperatures will begin to drop inland today and along the coast inside the bay, we begin to transition. Some of our inland cities will take until tomorrow, and then on sunday, which happens to be mothers day, a little bit drizzle out there, clouds along the coast and a little bit farther inland east bay, south bay and to the north bay, with partly cloudy skies away from the coastline expected for the afternoon. Temperatures across the bay area this morning 50 degrees at Half Moon Bay 58 in San Francisco. Take a look at the north bay 49 for you, santa rosa. Notably cooler in our north bay 1020 degrees or so. The inner east bay. Concord a little bit cooler due to due to the delta breeze thats there. Its very weak, but its there. And 52 in livermore, which is a little bit warmer compared to yesterday. I think some of our inland cities today will be just as warm as yesterday, maybe even a little hotter, because youre just not going to get the influence of that cool breeze. 90 degrees for the afternoon today in livermore. Meanwhile, closer to the water in San Francisco, upper 60s. Pacifica 73, San Francisco. Low to mid 80s expected across the bay in San Francisco for the evening hours. If youre going to the giants game tonight by seven, 15, 67 degrees and that west southwest breeze will be 10 to 15mph. So a little cool and brisk there at the ballpark into the extended forecast, including the weekend focusing on mothers day. Low 60s at the coast, upper 70s around the bay, low 80s inland and then a tad cooler on monday. Back to you. Thank you rosemary. A cooler start to the day as well as a little bit of fog out there. Ill have a look at the Current Conditions and what we can expect for the afternoon, as well as the cooldown that will continue into the weekend. Coming up in just a little bit. 732 lets check on the highways this morning and the issues going on with bart. Good morning sal. Good morning. You know that the bart system is down between richmond and the macarthur station because of some connectivity issues. So the trains are not running between richmond and the macarthur station along those seven stations. You cannot go well along the six stations that are closed. The macarthur station is open, but along the other six, you cant go and get a train there. Theyre closed to richmond, essentially down to the macarthur station. If you can get yourself to the macarthur station, then things are going to be okay for you to use the rest of the system. You still see some slow traffic on highway four and 680, but things are just a little lighter than usual today along the east bay commute. 732 lets get back to the desk. All right. We want to update this hours developing story that sals been talking about the problem, as many bart riders are experiencing in the east bay at this hour. Ktvu james torres joins us live from the macarthur station in oakland with the update. James andre, ive talked to a lot of people this morning who are experiencing this inconvenience. One guy simply told me, man, i should have drove today. But if youre taking bart, if thats still part of your plans, it is not absolutely impossible. Ill show you what it looks like here at the macarthur station. Not all that chaotic this morning, macarthur. Once you make it here, youre pretty much golden to go anywhere toward oakland or San Francisco. Its going back up to richmond. Thats where the problem lies. At least thats what bart tells us this morning. What were seeing out here this morning. Ill swing the camera around back toward the roadway here. A number of people get off this station. Theyre just finding out that they cant make it all the way up to richmond, or they cant even go to one stop over to ashby or Downtown Berkeley or north berkeley. So they have to come out, take a bus, hop on the bus and get them to where they need to go. Normally when bart has these kind of issues, they offer a bus bridge and theyll take you from station to station to make it a little bit easier. But because we have 5 or 6 stations that are affected by this closure, theyre not offering that this morning. So a lot of people are taking Public Transportation that the city would offer, or any of those local municipalities would offer to get them to where they need to go. Weve also seen people in the other direction sharing ubers, getting taxis, getting out of those to come out here so they can get from the richmond, berkeley, el cerrito area over here to oakland to head back to where they need to go. This morning we talked to bart about whats going on. Why do we have so much trouble this morning . Heres what they told us right . In this Early Morning before service started, as we were powering everything up, we were not able to get correspondence, which with that richmond line specifically, the problem is located just outside of macarthur station, heading towards richmond. Its at the end of the day, a fiber problem, but were just describing it as a wayside equipment problem, just to be transparent with the riders. Yeah, a problem thats going to be causing quite a bit of a headache for a lot of people who rely on bart to get to work, or even when youre coming off of work to try to get home. We met a couple people in that scenario as well. Now the question is, how much longer is this going to last . Bart hasnt been able to give us a real answer on that just yet. They say they have extra staff coming in, crews working on the track to make that repair as soon as possible. They also have extra staff at each of the stations affected, letting people know that there isnt a train running through that theyll need to make other arrangements to get to where they need to go. If you were to go to one of those other stations, you would see the gate down a piece of paper on the gate telling you that there isnt a train running. And of course, all your questions can be answered by the gate agents who are there. Well show you what one of those stations looks like coming up in the next half hour. For now, were live this morning in oakland. Im james torres, ktvu, fox two news. James, thank you. The port of oakland has now filed a counter lawsuit against San Francisco over changing the name of the oakland airport. Construction is expected to be divided into phases and should take eight years. All right, 741 now lets get back to sally, tracking the roads and the transit issues that some people are dealing with across the bay area this morning. Yeah. Lets start with contra costa county. We do have some people who are on the road on highway four. Were going to start there. Westbound highway four is a little slow in pittsburgh and bay point, although it seems to be improving and we should see improvement now. The bulk of the commute is getting through this hour. By 8 00, i predict were going to have much better commutes. The bay bridge toll plaza has already started to get better if youre driving into San Francisco. And heres a look at the macarthur maze. Earlier we had it actually reach a midtown hour or so, but again, it is now compressed down to below the span. So its very shallow, impacting the coast and our bayside communities with a very weak onshore breeze. A variable wind reported in many spots, including napa, still coming in from the north at this time, and concord northeast right now, oakland. But then you take your eyes towards fairfield and we have a very weak onshore breeze working through the Carquinez Strait and through the delta. I do want to remind you that there is no direct bart service right now. Theres no service between richmond and the macarthur station. So on the six stations, richmond, all the way down to ashby, those stations are closed. You have to get yourself to macarthur to use the rest of the system. 751 lets go to rosemary, whos talking about todays weather . Sal, its going to be a beautiful one out there. Not quite as warm for our coastline as well as our bayside communities. Our inland areas. If youve been enjoying the heat, well, its going to last a little while longer, as we do begin to transition to a cooling trend that you will get in on tomorrow. Giving you a view here over alameda, blue skies overhead. A little bit of fog out there this morning along the coast, entering the bay, but again, most of it being chewed up by all that dry air thats out there. And we still have a little bit of an easterly flow you can kind of see here its light, but its there a variable wind for today. Some areas getting a little bit of an onshore breeze, other areas still seeing a north even northeast breeze at times as we get into the days ahead though, that begins to take a or change i should say. Tomorrow morning we wake up a little bit of fog along the coastline, even some patchy drizzle. As you can see from the blue on the screen and into the afternoon. Well call for partly cloudy skies away from the coastline, temperatures continuing to come down tomorrow and on sunday, even more so tomorrow, sunday morning, which happens to be mothers day. If you have plans for breakfast or brunch, you may have a little bit of drizzle out there. Fog along the coast and you can see how the cloud cover is now extended into the east bay, the south bay and the north bay. Afternoon. Well call for partly cloudy skies away from the coastline. Mostly sunny for the far inland areas as we take a look at the temperatures right now. 62 degrees in San Francisco, so a mild one there, 64 for the inner east bay of brentwood in the north bay, 49 in santa rosa. Our temperatures are all over the place, but we started out much cooler along the coast and inside the bay due to the transition there of the cloud cover and the in the onshore breeze. Livermore for today, you are one of the spots that will not benefit from the onshore breeze, nor the fog going to about 90 degrees this afternoon. And that will be where we see the heat. The inner east bay for today. 91 in antioch, closer to the water. Low to mid 80s expected for our bayside community. 73 in San Francisco, which is very nice. Yesterday San Francisco hit about 80 degrees. So again, a bit of a cooldown coming for our coast as well as our bayside communities. Your extended forecast by mothers day, low 60s at the coast to low 80s inland and then a bit cooler as we head into monday. Gasia thank you rosemary. Were live on the disruptions to east bay service and the changes bart is making to handle this mornings problems. Plus this program just makes fremont a safer place. So by having drones over the air, we can get a lot, a lot better of a picture, so to speak. And the first of its Kind Partnership between the Fremont Police and fire departments. Why . Officials say a joint Drone Program is already proving to be a success. And where those drones arent allowed to be dispatched and the race for the white house stops in the bay area today, some deep pockets, tech entrepreneurs are reportedly on the guest list for two reelection fundraisers for President Biden from ktvu fox two news. This is mornings on two. Welcome to mornings on two at 8 00 live this morning at the conservatory of flowers in San Francisco and golden gate park. Temperatures, depending on where you are, it could be cool in some areas. Hot in others. Thank you so much for joining us. Im andre senior. Im Gasia Mikaelian. Its friday, may 10th. Lets talk about those who might still want to reach for the ac today. Rosemary oroczo. Yes, the inner east bay gasia and andre back into the upper 80s. Even a few low 90s. The rest of the bay area at least closer to the water. Definitely going to feel the difference. Already seeing it out there and already feeling it as well. A live look here over oakland. Plenty of blue sky from this vantage point. Were seeing a fog along the coastline. It did enter the bay, although, you know, kind of met with the very dry air overhead and well, it is pretty much nonexistent at this point. It evaporated 63 degrees right now in San Francisco, santa rosa still trailing behind in the mid 50s, santa rosa, you are 16 degrees cooler this morning compared to yesterday along the coastline. Half moon bay down by 11. Even the inner east bay. That will kind of struggle to get the influence of that cooler air. Livermore here down by one concord. Youre down by five. A very weak breeze moving through the delta and temperatures for the afternoon coming down in most areas, but still above average, 85 in santa rosa, low 70, San Francisco 80. In oakland 90. Livermore for today, upper 80, san jose. Ill have a better look at today, as well as your mothers day weekend coming up at 801. Lets see if traffic is improving at this hour with sal. Good morning. Good morning rosemary right. Now we have a bart problem that we have to tell you about. In case youre just joining us, theres no bart service from richmond to the macarthur station along that red line. Ktvu is james torres is going to join us in just a moment to talk about why its happening and when we can expect Train Service to be back. But right now its not. And there is no bart service there right now between bart, between Richmond Bart station and macarthur. Lets talk about the rest of the east bay commute. You can see highway four is still a little bit slow. 680 is slow. Its possible more people are joining us on the road if they dont have the option of bart. In the richmond area, it seems a little bit busy on 80 through el sobrante, richmond and into el cerrito. When you get to the bay bridge, though, its improving quite a bit. So things are improving many areas. Now that its friday , its 802. Lets get back to the desk. All right. Back to that story. Sally, you mentioned a moment ago that no bart service between richmond and the macarthur station in oakland affecting the red and orange lines right now. Ktvu james torres just moved to the ashby bart station in berkeley. He joins us with much more. James andre. A problem thats been going on for, well, more than an hour now. At this point, if youre trying to make your way from richmond or el cerrito or berkeley down into San Francisco or oakland, its going to be a much more difficult time than it normally is. Now we are at the ashby station here. We know that problem is closer to the macarthur station. Thats whats causing the problem for that whole part of the line here. Were here at ashby because we want to show you what it looks like. If you were to come to one of those stations that is closed, that would be anyone in the el cerrito stations, the berkeley stations and richmond as well. You walk up and youll notice the gate totally down. Its as if the station is closed because, well, frankly, it is. And there are signs on the gate that tell you that the station is closed. Proceed to the macarthur station. If you need to catch a train. If you make it to macarthur, then and thats only about a seven minute drive from here, then you can smoothly sail down over to San Francisco in oakland. However, getting from richmond here, that is going to be the problem. Thats what bart says they are still working on to try to get some repairs done so those trains can run through again. Ill show you what else we can see here. A number of people who are walking up seeing these signs, learning about the disruption here and now. Bart has a number of extra staff on each of these stations to try to help people and try to help you get to a bus to get to where you need to go. Of course, a lot of frustrated people. This morning we talked to a number of people who are a little less frustrated who said, while its inconvenient, it happens sometimes it happens sometimes. What are you going to do . You know, thats the way it goes sometimes many years since this happened. So ill be all right. Im not upset. Thats just how i go. I should have drove. I should have drove. Now, thats from some people we spoke to at the macarthur station. A number of people were ubering over from some of the stations in el cerrito or berkeley or richmond to get to macarthur to get to, of course, where they need to go closer to oakland or San Francisco, some people were also taking the bus because they were headed the other direction, trying to get to berkeley or richmond. Thats part of the plan for this morning. Takes a lot of planning. Of course not. What youre normally used to this morning, but thats the reality of today. According to bart. But the question, of course, what happened, what is actually the issue . Well, bart spokesperson helps explain, right. So thats whats going on. This morning. Well bring you back live just outside of the ashby bart station here, where we see a number of people who have been figuring out the trains are not running here. So they walk right upstairs waiting for a bus stop, trying to navigate which bus they need to take in order to get to a better spot to go where they need to go this morning. Of course, the question is next how long is this disruption going to last . How long until we see these trains running . Trains running through . Bart says they are working on it. Theyre trying to get it done as fast as they can. Of course, once we have a better update, we will let you know for now, reporting live. Im james torres, ktvu, fox two news. Thank you. James new this morning fremont firefighters say theyll remain at the scene of a fire at a commercial building to help make sure there are no flare ups. The fire was reported around 2 00 this morning on millmont drive east of 880. Firefighters from fremont and milpitas responded, knocked the flames down in about 90 minutes. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to one building. No injuries. The cause is under investigation. The city of fremont is calling its groundbreaking Drone Program a huge success. The citys Police Officers and firefighters are the first in the nation to use drones on a regular basis. While responding to emergency calls. The Drone Program has been in place for more than a year. Emergency responders say the drones are now playing a major role in efforts to crack down on crime. It truly has been a such a useful tool for deescalation for apprehension of violent suspects, for Public Safety. Firefighters also say the drones have provided a huge boost to Public Safety. One drone recently took to the skies just moments after a home went up in flames. One of our other battalion chiefs was the person operating the drone that was able to give me real life time, intel, while the drones actually looking for hazards, possible hazards that could affect either Public Safety in general or responding personnel. Fremont police and firefighters say the drones are only used for critical or life threatening situations, and First Responders stress they are not allowed to be used for random surveillance. This is President Bidens Second Campaign fundraising trip to the bay area this year, but less than six months to go until election day, the president and the presumed republican nominee, former president donald trump, are neck and neck in recent polls. Political analysts say that fundraising is key for political ads. Money is the mothers milk of politics, and it matters. And this isnt a president ial election where youre going to see north of 6 to 8 billion is spent. Most of the money raised will likely go to help increase voter turnout, especially among young people. Donald trumps criminal trial in new york resumes today, capping off a dramatic week that included testimony from adult film actress stormy daniels. The defense also questioned daniels about why she accepted a 130,000 payment to keep quiet instead of going public. I think youll see some very revealing things today. And, i want to thank my lawyers. Theyve done a very good job, and id rather thank them after its over. Prosecutors accused trump of falsifying Business Records to cover up the payment to daniels. Trump has pleaded not guilty. Happening today, Governor Newsom will release an updated budget for the next fiscal year. Last month, the states legislative Budget Office estimated californias budget deficit is likely grown. The estimate is about 70 billion now, up from 38 in january. This means the budget the governor lawmakers had planned for needs to be revised. The deficit has grown as expected. There will likely be cuts to state spending and programs, something the governor hinted at when asked about the budget at a chamber of commerce event earlier this week. We still have a shortfall. We will manage it and well manage it, yes, without general tax increases, were not just going to try to solve for this year. I want to solve for next year. I think its too important. We have got to be more disciplined. Analysts cite a couple of reasons for the growing deficit, noting that Economic Growth has slowed. So theres less payroll tax revenue coming in amid layoffs and job cuts. Also sales tax revenue is down due to consumer cuts in spending. Time is 810. And right now weve had significant improvement on many of these commutes on a friday. Its typical for it to be nicer for the bay bridge has improved quite a bit. We still do have some slow traffic and some spots. 24 is getting better. Highway four is still a little bit slow, and you can see from the map here that 80 westbound from el sobrante down to the berkeley area slow a little slowing on the richmond bridge. We havent talked a lot about the south bay. The south bay commute has been pretty good. On 280 and on 101 because its friday, 811. Lets go back to the desk. Well, it is official now. Oakland is renaming its airport to include San Francisco bay, but the dispute on the name change is far from over. Some nurses in San Francisco are threatening a strike, and unlike so many labor actions, the pay pay does not appear to be the central issue here. What theyre pointing to is a major problem , and how their employer dozens rallied outside laguna honda hospital. They say right now Staffing Levels are extremely low and that patient care could be affected. Theyre also warning that if the city doesnt take action on contract negotiations to increase staffing, a strike is inevitable. Our patients are, put in unsafe positions, you know, because if we dont have enough staff, they can fall out of bed. We have to make sure they get fed. We have to prevent them from having bed sores. You know, we have to make sure they get their overall care we need. We have to make sure they get all their daily needs met. And were working short. Something is going to fall through the cracks. The san jose bart extension project is getting a 500 million boost in federal funding. It is one of the most important projects in this budget, is the second highest project with an allocation. And what that means is that this project has huge support. Right now, crews are working on the second phase of the project, expanding the newhall Maintenance Facility near Santa Clara University service is set to start in the spring of 2037. All right. 818 again, we want to get things back over to sal, whos tracking, developing news in the transit world, especially bart right now. Thats right. And im just looking up, you know, just to see if they might change it. The bay bridge is doing very well right now. So some people who might have not, you know, wanted to drive, could drive and not have a terrible commute. Remember, bart is not Offering Service along the red line between richmond and the macarthur station. So richman, md and those six stations are closed. The first station thats open is macarthur bart. You can get yourself there. You can have access to the rest of the system. But right now, the other stations are closed. Were going to keep an eye on that for you. This has been a long standing problem. Its not expected to be fixed by the morning commute. All right. Lets talk about some of these other drives here. You can see traffic on the east bay commute is getting much better. The south bay as well. We still have some slowdowns on highway four. Getting over to concord this morning. And highway 24 is getting much better. As i mentioned, theres no real slow traffic now at the bay bridge toll plaza. 819 lets talk about todays weather. Heres rosemary. Good morning sal. Happy friday everybody. We do have cooler air coming our way. In fact already beginning to feel it along the coastline inside the bay or north bay communities. A huge drop in temperatures this morning compared to yesterday. Well check in on all those numbers in just a moment. Heres a look at San Francisco. A little bit of fog out there. This morning. Storm tracker two here. Still picking up on a little bit of a northeast flow, but right at the surface, a localized sea breeze, a little bit of fog along the coastline entered the bay this morning. Its very shallow, but its there. So our far inland east bay not expected to feel it just yet. But once again, this is the start of a transition to cooler weather tomorrow morning. Fog along the coastline. Patchy drizzle. May have some just inside the bay as temperatures continue to drop. Our inland cities east bay will begin to feel the change by then. And then sunday morning, which happens to be mothers day, clouds along the coast, a little bit of patchy drizzle and notice the cloud cover. Its more extensive. East bay, south bay into the north bay, breaking away to partly cloudy skies for the afternoon. If you have breakfast. Brunch plans for mom something to consider even a little bit of patchy drizzle to start the day. Temperatures across the bay area this morning. We are rebounding, but some of us, even in the upper 40s this morning over the north bay, a Half Moon Bay had a chilly start in the upper 40s. Now 59 degrees Half Moon Bay, low 60s San Francisco, upper 60s in brentwood and livermore youre at 59. So this is where the heat will be on once again, upper 80s to low 90s expected for our inland cities. Low to mid 80s for the north bay. Low to mid 80s for our bayside communities like hayward, san mateo going to 8473. In the city of San Francisco yesterday. San francisco 80. So its definitely going to be a cooler day, but still very nice. 60 in pacifica or 69, i should say. Yesterday pacifica hit 80. If youre going to the giants game this evening, upper 60s by game time, there will be that west southwest breeze, which means a cool sea breeze. To join you, make sure you bring the layers and the jackets. Your extended forecast here. Temperatures drop a few degrees tomorrow. A little bit more on sunday. Low 60s along the coast, upper 70s around the bay and low 80s inland. Even a tad cooler on monday before we see a little bump on tuesday. All in all, very comfortable for the days ahead. Back to you. Sal has all the info. Good morning sal and rosemary here. I thought you didnt listen to me at all. Oh, of course i do. Of course i do. Im just giving you some grief, you know. Absolutely right, rosemary, we do have some issues with bart, and bart is not operating between richmond and the macarthur station. So the stations richmond all the way to the macarthur station. You cant take a train there. So macarthur station is open, but anything on the red line after that toward richmond is not. That means that the ashby station, berkeley north, berkeley, el cerrito, el cerrito del norte, and richmond stations, those are all closed. You have to take transit to get yourself to the macarthur station. And were actually were going to have just found out that were going to have james talking about what caused this. Hes been talking to passengers. Thats coming up in a moment here. Lets talk about some of the other commutes. Weve seen the east bay commute still a little bit busy, but theyre improving. Highway four is improving a little bit. Highway 24 seems like its clearing out. And we have good news for you at the bay bridge. If you want to get into San Francisco, theres not a big backup right now at the toll plaza at 832. Lets go back to andre. All right. Back to what you were just talking about a moment ago regarding the bart train system that the outage thats causing the issue right now. James torres is live at the ashby bart station in berkeley with an update. Now, james andre, weve been following this since about 7 00 this morning. Thats about how long the Train Service from richmond down to the macarthur station in oakland has been out of service. If you come to one of those stations anywhere in richmond, el cerrito or berkeley, youre going to see the gate closed and attendance station agents telling you that you need to find another way to get to where you need to go. Thats what were seeing with a lot of people here just outside the ashby station. They saw the gate closed. They saw the sign saying the station is closed. Trains arent running through, and now theyve come upstairs waiting for a bus. A number of different busses that can take them to the number of different places. They are hoping to go. Now, normally when this happens, bart usually is able to supply some sort of bus bridge, but thats typically only when one station is down and they can take you from one to another. Now we have about six stations that are down. Its probably a little overwhelming for the bart system, so theyre asking you to rely on Public Transit to get you to where you need to go. Lets show you actually a little bit of information that might help you before you step out the door today. That can help you plan a little bit of what you need to do to get to where you need to go. If you come from here now, ac transit says that it has a number of bus lines that can get you to all those different stations, specifically line 72 and 72. Thats probably going to be the most useful because that can get you down over to richmond, to both el cerrito stations, as well as berkeley and Downtown Berkeley, ashby and macarthur. You want to take lines like seven, 12, six, or 18 in. Of course, its going to add a lot of time to your commute this morning. Normally are more than what you are normally used to, but that is just a reality of this morning, bart telling us that the reason that we have to do this is because theres some sort of trouble on the line thats closer to macarthur, headed toward richmond. They said there was some sort of fiber problem when they were trying to fire up the machines and the systems for this morning, there wasnt good Clear Communication between some of the agents and the trains. And its a problem that they are still working on trying to fix at this moment of course, we are still checking in with bart, trying to see about how much longer this problem will persist, how much longer until we see some of these train stations reopen. Once we have that answer, we will bring it to you for now. Reporting live this morning im james torres, ktvu, fox two news. Thank you, james.
