Now its 6 Alameda County is apparently suffering a shortage of Health Inspectors allowing some restaurants to go at least a year without being checked out. The Health Department ended up shutting that restaurant down. But as kron 4 lezla gooden found out this county is understaffed and appears to be falling behind in inspections. The port says theres a lack of geographic awareness about oakland and its creating challenges. As they argue, oakland should be serving the top 20 markets, but its not. And that Research Shows the name change could attract more passengers by letting them know that oakland is another gateway to the bay area, and a name can change, can certainly do that.
