According to the City Managers Office a 30 foot chunk of dirt slid down into the canyon below. These are some pictures from the other side of it. This happened earlier this week during some of the heavy rain right along the eastern portion of san bruno avenue between crest moore and glenview drive. Because of the slide is about 10 feet between the sidewalk and the edge of that slope. The sidewalk on this side of the street, the westbound direction is closed and as we showed you a minute ago theres about 300 feet of on the westbound lanes closed to traffic as well as a caution. The city manager says no homes or private property are threatened by this but by declaring a local state of emergency and will allow the city to get the hillside short of quickly and release some of the money to do that and prevent any further erosion. We have reached out to the City Managers Office to get more information on the timeline for making these repairs, we are waiting to hear back. Happened today, an attorney representing the family of a man who died at the santa rita jail will announce details of a federal civil rights and unlawful death lawsuit against the Alameda County sheriffs department. He was being held held at the jail, claim he died of association after being placed in a body suit called the wrap his family was originally told that he died of an overdose. To the north bay we have an update this morning about a man who died in Police Custody last week. David ward reported his car stolen to police but later was able to find it on his own. Police said they did not know ward had already recovered it. They spotted the vehicle last wednesday morning to try to pull him over. Investigators say that ward refused to comply with their demands. He was tased and then put into a hold. He later died at petaluma valley hospital. His sister says the police should have handled the situation differently. What was the rush .
