The rail station after getting reports that a man with a knife was threatening people. Now, and arm vta Security Officer got there first, confronted the suspect and then shot the man who later died in a hospital. The Security Officer was not hurt. This is what is right now and we have to deal with it. Two years ago we barely made it out. So this time we took no chances. Welcome home, windsor reporter these are people who cheered and made banners and signs at the town of windsor was allowed to repopulate we know today the entire town of windsor, healdsburg and santa rosa have evacuation warnings lifted. Windsor was entirely evacuated saturday as the kincade fire moved him. The town has 27,000 People Living there. The fire has destroyed 266 structures in a Sonoma County including many houses. Those allowed to come back should be prepared to show id at checkpoints. Theres also a possibility some areas will be without power because of the shut off. Its also very cold. Some areas expected to dip into the 30s so the red cross has opened some warming shelters. For people who do return home, they can expect to see Police Patrolling neighborhoods. Theres also several road closures still in place. Its also important to note that although the evacuation orders have been lifted, these neighborhoods remain under evacuation warnings. That means if fire conditions change, there is a possibility they may need to leave again so you should still be prepared. We have two new videos to show you from overnight showing more of the firefighting efforts. This is from San Francisco firefighters who led a strike team at the kincade fire. They recorded this early sunday morning at the height of the windstorm on pine flat road in geyserville. Firefighters were able to save three houses in that area. Also the Sonoma County Sheriffs Office shared video of their recent firefighting efforts from the air. Looked down. The pink stains on the ground are places where fire retardant had been dropped. The infrared technology on the helicopter camera also shows hotspots within trees and around houses. Celebrity chef guy fieri is back in the north bay teaming up with other bay area chefs to make food for evacuees and First Responders. Hes been bringing meals to the Sonoma County fairgrounds and said he will be back with lunch and dinner for as long as they need. He and his fellow chefs have been helping evacuees and First Responders during wildfires for several years now including masters camp fire in butte county. Many schools will stay closed because of the fire and the pg e power shut off. In Sonoma County schools will be closed today and tomorrow. And napa county the calistoga schools will stay closed but all the other schools in the county will be open. And marin county, most schools are back in session. The others say they will hold classes if the power is on and time to begin the school day. If you are a parent, check with your individual schools. And in lake county, the konocti unified and the Middletown Unified School District is still closed but all the others will be open again today. Later today, an emergency meeting by the Sonoma County board of supervisors. They will declare a local emergency and adjust the county budget to include Disaster Relief money for the new kincade fire disaster fund. The meeting will not be held in santa rosa because of the fire. They will move it to the Rohnert Park City Hall and it will begin at 9 30 am. Pg e says it is inspecting equipment and restoring power as fast as i can after the fourth power safety shut off of the month. The latest report says 53,000 customers statewide still have no power including houses and businesses in napa, sonoma, marin and lake county. Pg e is not saying when everyone will have power again but they are identifying many places where fires may have been prevented because the power was shut off. We are up to 83 cases of damage. This includes trees falling into lines, broken poles, other hazards, tree branches tangled in the wires that we have been able to remove and make repairs on. And we expect that number to rise. Pg e says even with crews working around the clock it may take days to complete all the repairs and for all the customers to have power restored. We have learned about two more fires, possibly started by pg e equipment. Now there have been six fires in the past week. The east contra costa Fire Protection district says a pg e transformer through sparks into the brush near gateway road on Bethel Island just before a fire early sunday morning that threatened houses. And then two hours later, fire crews were rushing to another fire in oakley that forced people to evacuate. The Fire District says they are investigating and is pointing to malfunctioning pg e equipment. These are the fifth and sixth fires connected to pg e equipment in the past eight days. The cpuc is also investigating pg es equipment for sparking the kincade fire and Sonoma County and two fires in lafayette. Pg e is also investigating whether downed power lines started a house fire in milpitas. Among those to have the lights back on this morning are dozens of residents at a senior Apartment Building in marin county. Amber lee first reported on the conditions at Bennett House tuesday evening after phyllis reached out to us. She and her neighbors at the apartments for seniors and the disabled have been without power since saturday but unity members quickly reached out, donating food, lanterns and flashlights. Starting at noon, thats when they will start to distribute those food donations between noon and 5 00. This is one of several food drives and donation drives underway throughout the county. Redwood Empire Food Bank has deployed its Emergency Response program to help people restock their shelves and their fridge. Governor gavin newsom yesterday visited one of those mobile food banks and Resource Center in santa rosa. An evacuation there were able to pick up food and learn how to qualify for fire victim benefits or power shutdown unappointed benefits along with this drive in santa rosa there are several other spots today and tomorrow throughout the county where you can also pick up food donations. The redwood Empire Food Bank has spearheaded a lot of these efforts. The one here at the Finley Community center started 7 00. The kincade fire separated many pets from their families a Facebook Page has been set up for people who lost pets during the evacuations. The kincade fire fire pet rescue and reunification page is posting photos of the lost and found dogs, cats and even goats. They have already been able to reunite some of the animals with their families. Unfortunately there are criminals out there, people trying to take advantage of fire victims and Sonoma County Authorities Say criminals are posing as firefighters. Some also pretending to be security guards to get into evacuated areas. Firefighters received a warning yesterday to watch out for imposters. We did get a report yesterday of, there are possibly some take firefighters out there. Wanted to do some looting. You guys dont want that. You dont want those idiots to ruin your outstanding reputations. So if you see them, please report them to us. Check the credentials. Lets get those guys out of here. They are taking advantage knowing that First Responders, police, everyone is so busy and, you know, its very disheartening. So far there have been 10 arrests tied to looting in the fire zone. Today, at the sonoma marin rail Transit System is back with fullservice. Smart trains canceled service earlier this week because of the kincade fire and evacuations. There was limited service yesterday but today everything is back to normal except the price. You can ride the trains for free until next wednesday. Airline service to and from Sonoma Countys Charles Schultz airport starts again today. The airport have been closed because there was an evacuation zone. The first flight is a United Airlines flight from denver this morning. American airlines resumes service tomorrow. Sun country and Alaska Airlines will have full Flight Operations starting saturday.
